3 bedroom thatched cottage built from traditional Chilmark stone. It has a large Inglenook fireplace, with a big garden and Summerhouse. Situated in the pretty Wiltshire village of Teffont, close to Stonehenge & Salisbury. Great walks, country pubs nearby.
2 essential "extra" rules are that guests MUST turn on the chimney fan before starting a fire and they should also turn on the bathroom fan before having a shower - full details in Cottage Notes
My wife and I run an interior design company.
We use the cottage as a weekend getaway but want to make the most of it when we're unable to make it out of London.
Here's what our latest review said (non-Airbnb):
Beatiful and comfortable home in a quaint village near Stonehenge. This updated thatched roof home had easy parking in front and a wonderful back yard and summer home (gazebo) in the back yard. The kitchen is modern and contains all tools you need to prepare a meal, and the owner gets high praise for providing a Nespresso coffee maker for easy wonderful coffee. The house easily sleeps 6 people spanning three rooms. What made the stay so nice was the incredible information packet and tourist information left on the desk explaining how to get around and what there is to do in the nearby villages and for sightseeing. Our greatest surprise was finding Old Waldour castle nearby you can explore. If you have time check out the ruins at Rivington. We would like to provide a special thank you Alex G. Who checked us into the property and showed us around the home. She was so kind and accommodating and helpful. During our stay one of the children got sick and she even helped us get in to see her family physician. Having help like this while traveling and not sure how to negotiate foreign lands makes all the difference for great memories. This is a must stay experience. We plan on returning as soon as we can. We loved the area so much if we ever move to the UK we will think of Teffont!
