How Things Work List
I am emailing you this list in advance and once you’ve checked in, much of this list should start to make more sense for you.
August smart lock
1.Once you've downloaded the August smart lock App, please use the assigned cellphone(s ) to open the door. The door will automatically lock itself in 1 min. Please have your phone with you whenever you leave the property. It has been programed for check in at 4pm and check out at 11am.
2.To open the door from inside, simply hand turn the unit on the door counter clock wise.
Thermostat (on kitchen wall)
1.Push and release the center of the thermostat.
2.Turn dial to desired temperature.
3.Turn heat down to 55 degree during outing.
Bathroom heated floor thermostat
1.To turn on floor heat - open side panel (right of the thermostat) and push top button in the shape of sunshine.
2.This fan has two directioanl fan action; use this fan to cool the space during summer as well as to bring the heat closer to you during cold season. Please try not to use the speed setting of 4 and above (too powerful) . The control is located at the top of the stairs.
Where are the forks and knives?
1.Inner hidden drawer of top right drawer next to dishwasher.
1.Push “power level” (bottom left of black dial)
2.Turn black dial to desired time.
Using preground coffee – make sure it’s espresso ground
1.Fill the water; the water reservoir is located on back of the unit. Use “filtered “ or “bottled” water only. Hard water will cause damage to the unit.
2.Plug in the unit and push power button (bottom left) and wait for “ready” on screen.
3.Place steaming nozzle over the drip tray to prevent water spray on counter and drawer below.
4.Deposit 2 Table spoons (only) of ground coffee into the top front section. Repeat the process for additional cups of coffee.
5.Pull down coffee dispenser and place cup under it.
6.Press “ground” image button (4th from left).
7.Choose a button 1 to 3 (starting from left) for desired size of coffee.
8.DO unplug the unit, empty the coffee ground waste inside the unit and wipe clean. Left of the machine has a latch to open the front part of the machine, then pull out the tray to clean.
2.Place coffee in gold filter (paper filter not needed)
3.Place the coffee pot with “lid turn to open for pour“ and push pot in front of the coffee maker to collect the brewed coffee.
4.Important – For the time being, place a small cutting board on top of the coffee maker lid during brewing to hold down the lid. The coffee maker lid will pop open and cause a big mess. I plan to replace this coffer maker soon, until then, please put a weight on the lid during brewing.

Kitchen gas range
1.Push and turn the control knob to start the desired burner.
2.Be sure to turn on the hood vent during cooking
3.Recheck to make sure the stove and oven are off when not in use.
Kitchen Peg Board
1.Please return pots and pans to same location.

1.Make sure the Flue is always open – super important!
2.Open the glass enclosure. Must stay open during use to safeguard the fireplace valve – super important! Summer time guests may not have this glass enclosure in place as it’s on back order.
3.The fireplace is totally operational without the glass enclosure.
4.Turn the control knob counter clockwise to start the fireplace
5.Turn the control knob clockwise to turn off the fireplace
6.Close the glass enclosure when not in use.
1.Living room tv is a smart tv and cable ready.
2.Main bedroom tv is smart tv.
3.With smart tv, you can watch programs on Netflix, Amazon Prime (free only) and Youtube. Please use your own account to rent movies.
How to use Smart tv
1.turn tv on and wait for 3 min. or so
2.push large cube shaped (colored) button in middle section of the remote.
3.select App of your choice and start watching.
Internet ready with no password.
Music: Play Pandora radio via your phone, computer or iPad or your own selection of music with iPod. Insert the "green" colored plug-in into your audio jack.
Natural gas barbeque grill
1.Push in the starter button (far left)
2.Turn flame control dial to desired temperature.
3.Turn grill off after cooking.
4.DO brush clean the grill right after cooking.
It’s the best time to clean when the grill is hot and have it ready for next use.
5.Don’t forget to unplug the deck light when not in use.
Area rugs in bedroom and in living room
Please do not get on the rug with soiled shoes.
1.Always use coasters please
2.Always pad your writing material to prevent markings.
1.Both beds have heated mattress pads with dual control. Please turn off when not in use.
2.When possible, please do not eat and drink on the bed to prevent unintended food stains.
1.Please only take the designated “pool towels” to the pool. The pool towels are located at the bottom section of linen closet on first floor.
2.Please safeguard your children around the pool, as there is no lifeguard on duty.
3.To get to the pool, turn left when you walk outside and turn left (just before the trash and recycle bins) and follow toward the base of the hill, the pool is located between two houses.
Skis – not inside please.
Place them outside in the ski holders and use the provided combination lock system to secure your skis. Also, very much appreciate it if you remove your boots prior to entering.
Bikes – not inside please.
Bring the bikes around the back of the building to access the fenced back patio and placed the bikes.
