Prior to the trip, host was polite and helpful, as you would expect. The host has lots of good reviews which is why we booked. I don't know if we caught him on a bad day but this has without doubt been the worst experience I've ever had travelling. Please read on. My wife and I had planned two nights with the host. Upon arrival we followed his arrival instructions to the letter. We took an Uber from the airport which was one method of transport he advised on. Once we reached Tivoli gardens we called the host, past him over to the driver to give final directions as per instructions. We carried on down the road but things started to seem odd. We ended up taking two u turns on the same road. I could hear the host shouting down the phone to the driver. The driver was getting quite upset. I took the phone back and calmly asked what the problem was. Immediately the host began berating me asking why we had gone wrong. I politely asked him to calm down and suggested that this was no way to talk to your guest. We had only done as he asked. I spotted a landmark and the host said he would collect us from there. Not wanting to keep the Uber driver waiting we left him go, it seemed the sensible thing to do considering the host was going to pick us up. 5 minutes later the host appears on his moped and asked us where the Uber had gone. We explained. The host then lost his temper even further and began swearing. In the heat of the moment my wife swore at him and used a finger gesture. She then walked off, away from the host. He then became extremely angry and said some very nasty things towards my wife. Becoming concerned he was getting out of hand I gently pushed him and told him to stay back. He got off his moped and walked over to my wife, screaming the entire time. We were all shouting at this point but fortunately he left the scene and rode off. We couldn't believe what had just happened. We were both stuck in Delhi in an unfamiliar place, shaking. Fortunately after some time we found a hotel nearby and it wasn't a complete disaster. An hour or two later I diplomatically messaged the host in a very polite manner asking why he treated us the way he did. I also apologized for things getting out of control. His response was an absolute disgrace and there is no excuse for anyone to use this language - 'Ask her to use the same finger she showed me to calm herself down. Your manhood is clearly insufficient'. No woman should ever have to have that said to her. If anyone would like the full transcript of the message I would be happy to share. Had the host not been so aggressive in the...
