Tradewinds Ranch is a 30 acre ranch that resides in the quiet rural community of Punalu'u, the Ko'olauloa Mountain District on the island of O'ahu. The ranch sits Mauka (mountain) side in front of Sacred Falls and is about 2 blocks (walking distance) from the iconic beaches of the north eastern shore of Oahu.

Tradewinds Ranch is a ranch with farm animals: cows, horses, chickens, ducks, sheep, goats, dogs, cats, frogs... etc.! We are excited to share our slice of country with you!

The space

We offer a very private Hawaiian country abode, free from crowding in urban centers in Hawaii that is truly a tropical-country style experience.

Our 30 acres working ranch features horses, dogs, cats, cattle, goats, sheep, chickens, donkeys, pigs, and peacocks. Our animals are apart of our family and roam free among us and there land. We hope our guest feel free and comfortable to enjoy our beautiful mountain views and walks down our country road.

We are a working ranch that is located in the mountainside of the jungly, rainy side of the island. This can mean at times we'll have ants, termites and other critters or pests that are above and beyond the norm. We do routinely exterminate and if ever there's a problem, you can give us a call.

Guest access

To access the ranch: Drive to the nearly the end of Puhuli Street. On the left-hand side you will see a large Palm tree and American Flag. The ranch is surrounded by a white fence. Turn left just before the flag. You will come to the main ranch gate that says "Tradewinds Ranch" on the posts above the gate. Just prior to arriving, I'll be sending you detailed instructions on how to navigate to the ranch house once on-property.

The home is free standing and you will be the only people staying in the house. It has a private driveway with a gate you can close behind you to keep the farm animals at bay if you choose.

I also live on the property down the road and can assist you with whatever you need during your stay. Just shoot me a text or give me a call!

Other things to note

There are beautiful beaches just down Kamehameha Hwy that you can walk to. The nearest grocery store, Tamura's Market, is located about 4 minutes up the road. The shopping center also has the following:

Smoking is allowed outside only. Please use the ash trays provided.

Turn off all lights and power (such as fans, appliances, etc.) when leaving the house.

People other than those in the Guest party per the reservation agreement may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest. Guests are not allowed to exceed the occupancy limit agreed to above.

Guests should not create excessive noise at a level that disturbs neighbors; Code-enforced neighborhood quiet hours are from 10:00p.m. – 8:00a.m.

All of the units are privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.

Keep the property and all furnishings in good order. Only use appliances for their intended uses.

PETS are permitted only with prior approval and the Pet Addendum must be completed. There is a pet fee of $50.

Parking:

PARKING PASSES – Parking passes are located inside the unit. Renters must display parking pass on the dash board at all times. Failure to display may result in towing of vehicle at renter's expense. Leave the parking passes inside the unit upon departure.

Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate.

We suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the units.

Garbage: Any garbage must be stowed in the proper garbage or recycling receptacle, located in the garage of the house. Please remove all garbage from the unit and leave inside the garage upon your departure. Ensure that all bags are tied. Any food left in the kitchen pantry or refrigerator will be disposed of. Non-perishable items will be donated to the local food bank.

Fireplace: The fireplace is a non-operational. Please do not use. Usage will incur damage fees.

Linen: Ensure that all towels are accounted for. Missing inventory will incur charges taken from your damage deposit.

Water and Septic: The property is on a well and septic systems. The mineral content in the water is high. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged damages of up to $5000.

Storms: If there is a storm or hurricane, no refunds will be given unless:
The state or local authorities order mandatory evacuations in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning area" and/or
A "mandatory evacuation order has been given for the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning" area of residence of a vacationing guest.
The day that the authorities order a mandatory evacuation order in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning," area, we will refund:
Any unused portion of rent from a guest currently registered;
Any unused portion of rent from a guest that is scheduled to arrive, and wants to shorten the stay, to come in after the Hurricane Warning is lifted; and
Any advance rents collected or deposited for a reservation that is scheduled to arrive during the "Hurricane Warning" period.

Must climb stairs - There is an upstairs to this house that is only accessible by stairs.
Potential for noise - It's a ranch, so roosters do crow, cows do moo and many birds chirp... continuously :-) You get the picture!

The ranch house was a perfect place for our family’s thanksgiving trip. We weren’t expecting such an amazing experience for the great price! We were able to cook a full thanksgiving feast using one of the two fully loaded kitchens in the house. The area was really cool and secluded, with visits from the horses, goats, cows etc. Not only was the place great but Joyce and Dave are so fun, kind, and hospitable, hosting our whole family for drinks and pupu’s on our last night! I highly recommend Joyce and Dave’s place and we will be back!

We very much enjoyed Tradewinds Ranch. The house is very spacious and close to many attractions on the North Shore. Seven Brothers was recommended to us in the guidebook and we loved it. Their burgers were awesome and absolutely worth the price. We highly recommend the milkshakes and açaí bowls as well. Joyce was wonderful about communicating with us and Greta gave us some great tips too. Our favorite memory is definitely the morning we got up to go watch the sun rise on the beach and we had to get all the animals to move from the driveway. We found it quite entertaining and hilarious! Definitely recommend staying here.

Absolutely amazing place to stay. The hosts are fantastic and so kind. The ranch is beautiful, peaceful and definitely a place to stay if you want to relax. Very close to the beach, a short drive to stores and very much a true Hawaiian experience. Highly recommended!

Awesome place, great host, made our anniversary celebration special. Animals were amazing and it was great to have 3 showers and so many beds. We enjoyed the decks in the evening as well. Sincere appreciation for host for hospitality.

We're proud of this peaceful, rural place that is so rare on the island of Oahu. There are very few places you can stay here that is an actual ranch yet only a couple of blocks away from the beach! We have horses, cows, chickens, ducks, goats, sheep, frogs... you get the idea!
