Make yourself at home in our historic rowhouse located in the quaint Eckington neighborhood just minutes from Bloomingdale's many restaurants, bars, and Sunday farmers' market. Our home is situated on a quiet street just one block off of Rhode Island Avenue with a bus stop to take you to any destination downtown. There's also a bikeshare stop one block from us if you prefer to explore DC on two wheels! Your room has a private bathroom and separate backdoor entrance to ensure privacy.
Your bedroom is located on the basement floor with an adjoining bathroom/shower. We have a pillow top queen bed (super comfortable) and a closet, dresser, and armchair. There is a washer and dryer in the hallway next to the bedroom which guests are welcome to use during your stay. There is a backdoor entrance/exit if you prefer to maintain your privacy from the common area. The first floor consists of a light-filled kitchen, dining area, and living room which you are welcome to use and enjoy during your time with us.
You will have access to the kitchen including cooking and fridge space if you need it - and all of the downstairs. We also have a front porch with chairs to enjoy the outdoors when the weather is cooperating and the back of the house has a small garden. The upstairs is not available to guests.
Interaction with guests
We are happy to assist with recommendations on where to explore, what to eat, and where to stay while in DC. If we are home during your stay, we are also happy to assist with getting you settled and making sure you feel at home. Weekends that we are gone, we will provide you with maps and information on your surroundings.
No smoking in the house, please.
Dogs are welcome to stay here - just please be sure to clean-up after them and do not allow them on the furniture. No cats.
Please be sure to clean-up after yourself when using the kitchen, we have a dishwasher and can provide detergent. Dispose of any leftover food from the fridge before you leave our home.
