The Pool House on School House is nestled amidst woods and fields on a dead-end road in rural Columbia County. We are a short drive from historic Hudson and a mere five minutes from Kinderhook and Valatie. Decor is spare and rustic. Kitchen and bathrooms are modern and well appointed. Spacious rain shower and separate soaking tub. Large in-ground swimming pool (in season) and patio for dining and lounging. Charcoal grill. Complimentary beverages and comestibles. Our quiet, isolated setting is also perfect for leaf-peeping, stargazing and viewing wildlife.
The full two stories of the house, the patio, and the pool are exclusively available to guests. Guests are also welcome to enjoy a stroll around our "Frogwater" pond and relax in the gazebo. The grounds are perfect for birdwatching and stargazing. Though we are surrounded by beautiful woods, they are private and not accessible to guests. Small daytime or evening events are sometimes accommodated, please inquire with details before booking.
The basement of the pool house is unfinished and private, though it is generally unoccupied unless there is laundry to be done or the pool is being serviced.

I'm a mom, originally from Iowa, trying to make a home in the Hudson Valley. I run a fledgling farm and farmers' market, am a certified massage therapist and health educator, and parent a gregarious ten-year-old when he lets me. I have traveled throughout the States, Australia, and Europe and dream of future adventures in Peru and Bolivia. Our little Pool House affords us a life in this burgeoning upstate community, and for that I am grateful. I hope that our guests enjoy a glimpse into our quiet, pastoral existence (but with a fabulous pool!).
