Welcome! Our 3 bed 4 bath home is modern, spacious, and bright. Your room has own full bath & balcony. 10 min walk to old town for shopping & restaurants. We have a woman who comes 3 days a week to wash your clothes, grocery shop, and clean the whole house. We offer long term discounts. We are 2 girls who are both working in development. Safe with 3 night guards. Covered parking. Furnishings are hand made by artists.
Our house is a place you just want to spend time in. It has a very warm, nice feeling. We have a great big table. It's very clean and provides a great working space.
Interaction with guests
We are very laid back and friendly people. We like to chat and catch up on each other's day but if anyone wants their space they can retire up in their spacious room with a hot cup of tea or read a book in the living room. It's a large enough space that it's possible to hang out or do your own thing.
Other things to note
I like to share my space with positive, conscientious people. I'm in Malawi working on a solar project.
We hardly ever experience blackouts or water shortages because our house is on the same line as the presidential Winter palace.
There are hardly any mosquitos in the house. We have screens on all the windows. Your room has a fan which also provides white noise if you're a light sleeper.
We take security here seriously (you must in Lilongwe) and we feel very safe here. We live in a complex with other town homes and there are 5 guards in duty during a 24 hour period.
There are a lot of birds and it's beautiful to wake up to their songs in the morning! Looking forward to hosting you!

Hello! I am Joanna and I'm originally from San Francisco. I have been in Malawi for nearly 3 years working to bring portable, personalized solar solutions to rural areas. I go for a run every morning on trails and I like to do weights at home or go to the gym a few times a week. I try to hike or bike as much as possible. I've explored a lot of Malawi and give you great tips about the best places to stay. I feel like I know a lot of people in different areas. I'm a bit of a workaholic and I LOVE being home because it's so quiet, bright, and cheerful. I hope you will enjoy it too. Looking forward to meeting you!
