The space

Lovely duplex for rent in the heart of Montemarcello (Liguria), a beautiful village dating back to the 13th century overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia, the open sea, the foreshore of Versilia and which is close to the Cinque Terre. Montemarcello, 266 mt above sea level, is surrounded by the Regional Natural Park called "Magra" and offers the chance to quickly reach beautiful rocky or black sandy beaches, trekking, walking, excursions in natural park and biking. The village is isolated enough from the noisy nearby major cities and is renowned by European tourists to be an exclusive location.
Apartment has been fully refurbished in 2012 and has high quality finishes and fittings.
It consists of a hall, bathroom, double bedroom, large living room with kitchen corner and sofa bed and it can accomodate up to maximum 4 people, even if it would be better suited for a couple or 3 people.
Apartment is fully furnished in modern style and is very comfortable and cosy.
It is located in the heart of the village at 2 minutes distance from a grocery store, 2 restaurants, 2 cafes, a pastry shop and the village church which dates back to 1474.
The apartment is in the perfect location between Liguria and Tuscany to visit major touristic sites around and it's perfect for both lovers of sea and mountain. In fact you can quickly reach Lunigiana valley, Apuan Alps, Cinque Terre, villages like Lerici and Tellaro, as well as the long and sandy beaches of Tuscany.
By car take the A15 motorway and exit La Spezia or take the A12 motorway and exit Sarzana. Then follow the driving directions to Montemarcello. Also public transport can be utilized for both getting to the village and for reaching near touristic places like the Cinque Terre, Lerici, Tellaro, La Spezia, Sarzana, Ameglia, Forte dei Marmi, etc.

Montemarcello was an amazing discovery for us. Beautiful spot! The apartment is very functional and well taken care of. It adds to experience of being in such a magical little town. Serena has things well organized. Thank you!

I would recommend this appartment and the area to everyone! If you want to have a nice quiet holiday with nature all around, this is a good place to be :) I was travelling there by bus. It is possible and the flat is not far away from the bus station. (Of course you have to consider that it is a small town and therefor there are not that many times a bus is going to / from there, but still good reachable)

Amazing and relaxing stay at Montemarcello. Serena delivered all needed information to make our stay at her place perfect. From Montemarcello you can start you journey to Cinque Terre or to a nearby hiking path. Thanks again to Serena for hosting us.

Serena was very helpfully during our stay in Montemarcello. The village is amazing and calm. The apartment is clean and nice. We loved our stay there and recommend to visit 5 terre (close to Montemarcello). The beach is not so far also and restaurant on the village are good (particulary the pizzeria).

We had a really nice stay in MonteMarcello! Serena gave us all the information we required about the beaches and the town. She even sent us some videos to make it easier for us to find everything! The apartment was clean and everything was exactly like the photos. Unfortunately, we had a little incident with the restaurant “locanda della nona” (Serena doesn't know it and she didn't recommended it to us). We ordered a steak, which should be medium, but it was rare. We had send it back, a few minutes later the waiter came with it again, and it was well done. We said that we would like to have something else but the owner insisted on payment of the steak! In the end we only payed what we ate and left the restaurant. We wouldn't recommend this restaurant to others! However, MonteMarcello is a little beautiful town with a great view to the sea. We thought, it's better to stay there than in the little towns of the cinque terre, because it was less touristic! The beach is a little walk away. Therefore, you have to be fit because there are 500 steps down the clips until you reach it, but it's worth it. Make sure that you wear good shoes. Overall, we had a beautiful stay in MonteMarcello and we would recommend it!

We loved Monte Marcello, this beautifull little town, the house is enchanting and really cool (especially downstairs). The environment is just as marvellous as the village itself, the local beach, Punta Corvo is breathtaking, the trip is worth taking on the steep stairway (at least 30 minutes down and more up). A very peaceful location, although not being that really silent jumping-off place as we had thought before arrived there - a lot of festivals and plenty of people, so sometimes it was a little difficult to sleep (but I am a very light sleeper), and the bench under the bedroom's window is a spot for all-night chats used by every tourist in town. Serena was very helpful via email, sorowfully we didn't meet because she was abroad during our stay. We were welcomed by her parents, they were really nice and friendly, but neither of them spoke English (like most people in the area), so it was a little difficult to communicate, but fortunately French is more useable. Trattoria dai Pironcelli is a little restaurant that must be tried, book a table in advance. A little shop is located in the main square, supermarkets in Sarzana, 15 minutes by car. When planning your trip, be aware that no internet available and can't always use your mobile phone. Thank you, Serena!

We stayed one week in Montemarcello. The apartment was very clean and spacious for two people. It has everything you need for a stay, including a well supplied kitchen. The little quiet village is a magnificent location far away from the big city's. Serena was very nice and helpful. Definitely worth coming back!
