Our private cottage is perched above waterfalls & a creek and is adjacent to the Pike National Forest in northern Colorado Springs. Hiking trails, bike paths, the Air Force Academy, & numerous other attractions are very close to this private and unique setting.

The space

Our architecturally unique cottage is an 8-sided "Hogan" structure with a wooden ceiling & beams peaking at the center for an umbrella-like effect. Saltillo tile floors, wood lined walls, glass block space dividers, a comfortable bedroom area, living room area, fully equipped kitchen/eating area, and bathroom define the 450+ square foot space. The gorgeous scenery & wildlife can be enjoyed from 2 very private decks, overlooking the waterfalls and perennial creek. We are adjacent to the Pike National Forest and one exit away from the US Air Force Academy.
Popular nearby attractions include Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, US Olympic Center, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, museums, historical sites, and plentiful hiking and biking trails.

Guest access

The full cottage and adjacent outdoor spaces are yours to enjoy & relax in complete privacy. Our home is a totally separate house but is nearby, on the same property. You will have an access code to the gate, coming and going as you please. Parking area is right next to the cottage.

Interaction with guests

Since we are on property, we are happy to help with questions that are not answered in our comprehensive WELCOME instruction book in the cottage. We think you will have the best experience exploring the area on your own and making new memories with the boundless adventures that await you!

Other things to note

Our Colorado cottage is a wonderful place to relax & unwind, getaway for a romantic weekend, explore & find new adventures, attend US Air Force Academy events, or use as a base camp for venturing further out from the Pikes Peak region.
We ask that you treat the property and cottage as you would your own home and leave it as you found it for our next guests to enjoy. We know most people are considerate and respectful and very much appreciate that attitude!

Hans was a fantastic host. The cottage was extremely comfortable and the location is unbeatable - between the flowing water of the brook and the idyllic hiking path up the hill, you will find the land exceeds all your expectations. The cottage itself had all of the amenities listed and was well-outfitted for a few days away. Hans was easily accessible, made check-in and checkout simple, and offered plenty of suggestions for things to do and places to eat. If you plan to be in the COS area, make this your homebase - you will not be disappointed.

This place is a gem! We loved the quietness and the scenic views the cottage provides. We also enjoyed having the side door open to listen to the waterfall. The hike was perfect for us too. Hans and Vera are great hosts, I enjoyed looking through the binders with food recommendations and things to do. Colorado Springs is a 20-30 minute drive from the cottage with lots to do!

This guest cottage was a complete delight. From our initial escort by eight wild turkeys on the road to the property to their second and third visits close to our door. The design of this wonderful cabin snuggled in the trees, it's bountiful beamed ceiling and numerous full windows, lovely decor and it's fully stocked amenities was beyond expectations. It's light and convenient and there were surprises everywhere we looked including the beyond funny guests in the freezer! Both visually and auditorially , the creek and waterfall being so close was a joy. Close to Denver and only a 50 minute drive makes this an easy place for us to visit again. Thanks Vera and Hans for a great stay! Phyllis and Dan Denver, CO

We loved our stay at the cottage! Pictures don't do it justice. You've got vast hiking options right outside your door, and the sound of the waterfall is so soothing to hear before bed. We didn't meet Vera, but Hans was friendly and helpful. Thanks for a wonderful time!

Our stay at Hans' guest house was idyllic. It was very well equipped and very comfortable for two people. We woke up to a great view of mountains, while listening to water rushing over rocks. We went on a hike each morning in the adjacent National Forest and saw dozens of birds. When we came back, we sat on a bench overlooking a pond that had a near perfect reflection of the sky and mountains in the background. The few minutes it takes to get to the guest house from main roads was well worth the privacy and peacefulness that comes with being away from traffic. Hans had some great tips for us about local restaurants and sights, none of them taking very long to get to. We would look very forward to staying here again.
