My stay with mister Bala was a pleasant surprise. From the moment i send him a message he was very open and hepfull and clear about what he offered. Getting there was a cherry on top. I loved the batik fabric in the rooms, i liked the welcoming central living room. And the lovely garden is a haven. The staff is ver friendly and helpful but not pushy. If you need a ride i just asked and it was arranged for a good fee. Also mister Bala installed a great system so you have no electricity issues at all ...and wifi was great. So all and all i felt safe, welcome and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend. ❤

Tedugal is a very nice guest house. It is calm and close to the beach. It is very, very clean and the people, who are working there are very friendly! If you need something they will find a solution. You can also Rent a car including a driver if you want. I highly recommend Tedugal for your stay in the Gambia.

Bala's place was great. Close to everything you could want, clean and comfortable. The staff there are less like staff and more like a little family. Get involved!

Bala was out of town when I arrived but the caretaker, Mousa was very kind and pleasant to be around. He picked me up from the place where my bus dropped me off and helped me get to all the sites I wanted to visit. When I had last minute travel changes and had to stay an extra day he was very accommodating. I did not know upon booking that the room was one of 4 in a shared apartment. The rooms all have locks and my roomates were nice so it wasnt a big deal but if you are a light sleeper like me and easily woken up by people moving about in the morning you may want to book a private room. The rooms are standard with a nice bureau for your clothes and a full length mirror, which was the first I saw in Senegal. I recommend bringing a mattress pad or sleeping bag for the bed as you can feel the springs in the mattress. If not, just ask for a few extra blankets and then you wont feel them. Also, make sure you have plenty of bug spray. There are no mosquito nets and I got a lot of mosquito bites while I was there. I was told that they wouldn't be an issue with the the fan on but it was too loud at full speed for me to sleep so I only kept it on its middle setting. There is a little kitchen so you can cook your own meals. There is also a TV with several channels in English and an adaptor in the living room for every kind of plug. The internet box is on the middle floor where this room is located so you will have the strongest signal on the porch or in the living room. Also, there is hot water which is awesome. There is a little shop that sells coffee, milk, cigarettes and phone credit just a 2 minute walk from Tedugal house. Thats baout it for walkable things. The place is pretty far from everything and cabs can be expensive for tourists. If you take the shared busses it's cheaper but it takes much longer and you will likely have to change busses 1-3 times to get where your going

Tahira I appreciate your time and effort for helping us improve. All points taken and improvement areas are being worked on. Thank you. Location wise TEDUGAL by car is 20min to the airport, 20min to the city. Approx 35min walk to the nearest beach. There are shortcuts to most attractions. Besides Tedugal also offer internal taxi with cheap tariffs ranging from 2$. For reaching out to other towns / villages a 4-Wheel or 2-Wheel car rental available for approx 20$ for a whole day or even cheaper on hourly basis. It was a pleasure accommodating you and we look forward to seeing you soon again.

Few words about myself. My name is Mamadou Salieu Jallow, called and known as Bala. I'm an IT Technician living in Stockholm, Sweden and working for a Nordic e-commerce company. I was born in the late 60s, moved to Sweden when I was 19 years old.

I traveled a lot and some of my favorite places I visited are India, Iceland, Dubai, Guinea and The Gambia my country of origin. Tedugal is built in The Gambia known as the smiling coast of Africa.
Some special things I adore about The Gambia is the order in the disorder. Sun and sunsets, the beach, food, etc. People are curious, helpful, glad, open and social.

I like differences, different nationalities, different mind sets and seeing things with different eyes. These being some of the reasons that inspired me to build and share my home with people that share such common values. All above and the love for different kitchens and environmental friendliness promotes Tedugal Guest Houses to be a paradise of yours. Come, look and see.

Airbnb is one of the perfect platforms that make it happen for real. It gave me the opportunity to share my lovely, Eco friendly home to rest of the world.

We are what are called Tedugal meaning Hospitality.
