About Stephanie

I live on a hill north of the Pretoria city centre and love to share my lovely home with visitors.
I have travelled extensively all over the world, North and South America, Western and Eastern Europe, Australia, Israel, Turkey, Iran, India, Kazakhstan, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
I know South Africa very well, and I love it, so I can assist guests with questions and advice.
What place in the world do I like best? Istanbul, Iran, Venice, Prague, South Africa?.. It's difficult to decide.
I worked in IT all my life and now I dabble in Real Estate, the Japanese Chin breeding program, art and what not. It is wonderful to live in this friendly house and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to experience it fully.
The unique Japanese Chins that I breed are a delight; I try to keep them away from the guests, but they are joyful and friendly little souls, so loving animals is a prerequisite for staying here. It is up to you whether you want to see them.
The house and garden adjoins a large open bush area behind. There are bush babies and various other wild animals in the bush, such that I have to lock up my chickens at night.
The garden is large with ponds with fish, and rather noisy toads in summer; I am sometimes forced to relocate the toads to a nearby river.
I have designed an indigenous garden with elements of organic gardening, succulents and Hugelkultur beds, as it is so hot and dry.
I recycle and have compost heaps, which means the property is a bit like a smallholding, NOT a hotel where everything is pristine.
I hope my guests want to experience this piece of Africa that I treasure!
