Our family arrived at Azul a day after a storm so the waves at the beach were a bit stronger than usual. Richard was quick to advise us on this. The caretakers were helpful as well. They immediately responded when we had a minor issue with the shower. Overall, we had such a pleasant experience. The beach house is cozy and clean, certainly perfect for a quick getaway with family and friends.

The house needs quite a few improvements. Will private message the host regarding our concerns. One good thing about the place is its location (right next to the beach). Proper maintenance of the house could have made our stay more enjoyable.

Response from Richard:
Thanks Elaine for the feedback. Will take note of those concerns and relay to Manang Josie so we can improve on them.

Prepare yourself for a long drive but will be welcomed with the good ambiance though change of weather can also change your expectations but I think it is already out of someone's control. :) If you will go with a big group (we were 8 when we booked), I recommend to bring some disposable utensils. But for your cooking needs everything is available (except of course for ingredients!) And expect for a salty water from the faucet and for shower but potable drinking water are available (those that are being delivered). Richard, the host, can be contacted anytime and answers promptly on your questions especially for directions and Ate Josie, the caretaker, was also very accommodating and helpful with our requests she lives just beside the place. Overall we had a pleasant stay and the place is recommended if you are considering to book.

The perfect place for a short getaway! The place is directly in front of the beach so you can watch the sun set from the veranda while eating halo-halo (which can be delivered for a minimal fee since this is around 5mins drive from town) or coffee. There are also chairs and an umbrella you can borrow so you can hang out by the beach, which was practically empty when we were there. Was able to bring my dogs who had a lot of fun off leash and just running around the sand. Richard was super easy to communicate with and even suggested some places we can try for lunch while on the way. Will come back again!

Just a few things that i noticed that needed improvement in the unit. 1) the shower, it is rusty. It could be changed to a better one. 2) Rice Cooker- we've seen a rice cooker but it doesn't look that it was working so we didn't use at all. This could be changed. 3) Outdoor lightings- it could be good if there were enough lights outside during night time so if you just want to sit down and relax or probably have dinner outside, you can see the food you were eating. Some good things about the place. 1) It's beachfront. you can just jumped out from the door and it was right there in front of you. 2) it's quiet though there was a karaoke on the 2nd day from neighbourhood. 3) the beach itself is clean but we walked a bit further to the left because the sand and the water is clearer. it's not white sand but it was ok. 4) less people/not crowded so we own the beach for a couple of days. btw, i have to mention that the main room is very good for couple or probably family with kids. if you are travelling in a group such us, it is not comfortable due to space constraints but overall, it's still a good place. We had fun!

Response from Richard:
Hi Chanda! Thanks for the comments. The salty air and water from deep well easily makes things rusty especially that the house is right in front of the beach. The rice cooker is working. You should have used it. It's quite old but it's a good model that has outlasted our previous newer rice cookers. Apologies about the karaoke from the neighborhood, but we have an agreement with the resort beside us to not allow karaoke to keep our place as quiet as possible. As mentioned when you were booking, the main house can accommodate 5-6 persons and the riverside hut can sleep 2-4 persons. Did you all stay in the main house? Glad you enjoyed our place. Thanks again :-)

I am a travel agent who loves spending time with friends and family specially on out of town trips. I work hard to enjoy life and be able to travel the world and experience new things. Not much into books, but I like reading stuff on the internet (news and social media). I watch the latest movies in cinemas almost every weekend if schedule permits. I may be called a foodie as I like trying out different kinds of food.
