Highly recommended. We had a fantastic stay. Room was cute, with a huge comfortable bed. We were surprised by a yummy cheese platter, wine and baked goods - a great way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Breakfast was fabulous! Great location, close to restaurants and bars. Thanks Amber for a great stay, can't wait to come back!

Amber made us feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. I felt we had gone on a pampered weekend. Beautiful old rooms, with both privacy and shared spaces. We were welcomed with tea and home made fudge. After going out for a few hours, we returned home around 5.30 to wine and a generous plate of cheeses , meats, olives and chutney. Amber and her husband Shannon joined us on the balcony for a few hours and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves before tearing ourselves away for dinner at one of the many choices. Make sure you are hungry when you go as Amber's food is amazing, from the home made crusty bread, home made muesli, fresh fruit, eggs and bacon extravaganza and to top it off Amber shares her inter country culinary skills - Melanesian was our theme. So no lunch was required! All included in the price! And the rooms - all the little extras were included, beds turned down, beautiful lotions and creams, spa bath and much more. This place is a gem.

Rutherglen reminds me of two things. History and fine old muscats. Amberesque has both in spades. Driving down the Main Street we pull up outside the old Bank of Australasia. This is home for the weekend in the historic bank made from local stone and 14 foot ceilings. Don't ask me to change the light globes. If the weather had been warmer, we would have loved to have afternoon tea in the garden. One word describes the afternoon tea - sumptuous - a choice of rich dark homemade brownie or orange syrup cake. Amber loves to bake and preserve and this is what makes our stay relaxing and homely. Shane made sure we weren’t cold by keeping the fire burning bright. Without saying too much more I dont want to spoil by giving too much away. Thank you Amber and Shane.
