The location is perfect (so long as you have a car) to be able to get to all the Southern and Eastern locations like the Volcano and lava flows, Hilo, and Mauna Kea. There is a full kitchen with everything you could need, and the rooms all come with great little extras like coolers and snorkel equipment and even a flask (they think of everything). Deborah lives onsite and manages the property and was extremely helpful with great suggestions of markets etc. There isn't any air con in the rooms, which isn't too bad if you're out and about all day, but can get a little warm in summer at night. Just remember that you're basically in a jungle (the property borders a wild expanse of rainforest jungle which is lovely) so there will be some frogs singing (and jumping around the property) and a few bugs but they are pretty well kept under control. Cannot recommend this place enough and if I ever make it back to the big island, I would definitely come back to stay at Gail's. Thanks so much for a wonderfully relaxing visit.

The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. Gail provides amenities such as Kona coffee in the morning, snorkeling mask, beach towels etc. On top of this, lava viewing area is about 15mim drive from the house. Would definitely stay again!

Spent a sleepless night due to heat, humidity, and noise from the indigenous species. Home is not air conditioned -- I should have researched the climate during August for SE coastal Hawaii and searched for air conditioned accommodations.

Gail's place was definitely a great deal for the price. The house was super relaxing and the room was beautifully presented and very comfortable. I would definitely stay again. I really appreciate the hospitality and overall stay. Many mahalos!
