Architect-designed cosy family home on unique Victorian car-free cobbled street in the heart of Stoke Newington. The bright sunny flat has a large living room/kitchen, double bedroom, stylish bathroom and baby/toddler room. 4 mins from tube station.

The space

The flat has a large open plan living/kitchen/dining room with comfy three seater sofa, armchair, virgin tv, wifi, four seater dining table and contemporary kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, large fridge and freezer.

The double bedroom is smallish but cosy and there is a second bedroom with a cot which you are welcome to use for a toddler or baby. The large sofa is wide and makes a very comfy bed for an additional guest or child.

The bathroom is bright and clean with a double-ended bath and large headed shower. Underfloor heating keeps it toasty in winter.

The flat is on the third floor with views across the rooftops and down into the leafy communal courtyard where you can enjoy a coffee in the sunshine. The historic street is unique - featured in Amy Winehouse's Back to Black video and the recent film Legend about the life of the notorious Kray twins - its is a cobbled car-free zone which feels like a quiet oasis although only minutes from Church Street, Stoke Newington High Street and Stoke Newington Station.

Guest access

You will have the flat to yourself. It is on the third floor - unfortunately there is no lift. There is a communal backyard and central courtyard which you are welcome to use - our neighbours will make you feel very welcome!

Interaction with guests

Depending whether we are away or local we may leave keys with a neighbour. We will be contactable either way and have family members close by if there are any emergencies. Maps, guidebooks and restaurant/bar recommendations are in the flat - there are so many great places in walking distance to choose from.

Emma's and Ross' place is simply amazing: tastefully decorated and with all amenities one could wish for. We had a great time in the apartment and in the surrounding Stoke Newington neighborhood which offers a high density of lovely shops, green parks and delicious restaurants.

Emma and Ross's flat is lovely - Cosy and stylish situated on a private cobbled street both close to shops bars and transport links. Myself and girlfriend stayed recently for New Years eve and the place really added to our weekend, we were even left a bottle of Prosecco! There has been careful consideration taking to the interior design of the flat which really makes it a comfortable stay. I would 100% recommend staying here.

Great apartment, cosy, well decorated and right in the heart of Stoke newington which is so lovely with all the shops and restaurants. Ross and Emma could not have been more welcoming and although we didn't meet them they were great about keeping in touch. The bed was so comfy and the livingroom/kitchen was great for chilling out in after a busy day in London. Couldn't have been better!

though we didn't get to personally meet Ross and Emma, we did get the feeling like we're staying at a friends' place. the apartment is very welcoming and family-like, though very thoughtfully designed to every detail. as a small family we also very much enjoyed the fact that there's another toddler living there, so there were plenty of games and books for our kid to enjoy (which she did very much) the neighborhood is very pleasant, filled with a mix of many cultures (with the restaurants that come with it!). there's a cool&creepy old-cemetary/park very close by, and a real park within a 15min walking distance. i was told by the cab driver that there's also a busy night life, but we didn't get to check it out in this trip.. Ross and Emma were great hosts-from-afar, making their best to make us feel like we are their friends and not their clients (thanks for the beer! :)

Located in a beautiful, quiet (car free) street in a great area of London. Lots of interesting shops & Abney Park really close-by. Convenient for public transport (rail&bus). The flat is small but perfectly formed -perfect for me and my 2 kids. It was immaculately clean and tidy and everything we needed was easy to find & use (with the help of an instruction sheet). Info from Ross and family was clear and friendly and he always replied quickly to messages/questions. We really loved our stay!

Really lovely apartment, the cleanest I've stayed in, literally spotless! Super close to the train station and really great hosts. Check in and out was flexible, as well as being generally helpful and communicative, would definitely recommend!

Ross and Emma's apartment is a wonderful place: beautiful, comfortable, calm, sunny and homy. It's very clean and there's everything you need. The neighbourhood was a welcome surprise for us; very pleasant with shops, restaurants and a good connection with the center. The communication with Ross and Emma was easy and clearly; they did everything to make it comfortable for us. We really hope to come back soon. Thank you very much Ross and Emma
