Mike and Lindy are wonderful, accommodating hosts. They made a wonderful breakfast and had great recommendations for food and sites in the area. Highly recommend staying with them.

You will love the cottage on the hill. Great for couples or loners looking for peace and tranquility. Photos do not capture the beauty of the surrounding landscape. We only spoke briefly, but Mike and Lindy were very friendly and inviting, and provided plenty of information on local attractions and eateries. It was a pleasure to stay on their property.

The cabin was a great little find. It's cute and comfortable. Although there was no running water or electricity Mike and Lindy provided plenty of water jugs and lots of little solar lights to brighten up the room. The view from the top of the hill is great at sunrise and I suspect better at sunset. It's very close to hiking at Hawk mountain so we will be back again at some point soon.

Beautiful location, quiet, and amazing views. The cabin is charming and just as described. We made a campfire and watched the sunset, and when we woke, we could watch the sunrise from bed. It was a little cold that morning, but there were so many blankets that it wasn't an issue. And the breakfast! The yummy food just kept coming and the conversation was great. We needed a break from the city and came out and already, we are wondering when we can go back!

This place is amazing. The views, hospitality, communication and location were perfect. We enjoyed miles of sky, a home-cooked breakfast and then went right to Hawk Mountain for a hike. We can't wait to come back- maybe our best air bnb experience yet!

Do you enjoy seeing expansive skies, amazing views of mountains, along with some peace and quiet? If you said yes to either of these, this place is a must stay. Mike & Lindy are awesome hosts! Great communication from start to finish! The place is as it states and much more! Wait to you see it with your own eyes! There's a lot of local things you can do that Mike & Lindy have printed out for you to plan your excursions. This was our second time staying at the cabin on the hill, and we'll be back again in the fall!!

Mike and Lindy were excellent hosts at the Common Ground. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. We stayed in the cottage on the hill which had beautiful 360 mountain views. Mike and Lindy also gave us suggestions on where/what to do, we visited a local winery and hamburger festival during our stay. Will definitely be returning!

About Mike & Lindy

We are a happily married couple who have been together for 25 years, and raised three children who are all out of the house now. We have had the great blessing of living and working all over the world including places like India, Australia, China, Africa and here in the US. Lindy is a pediatric Occupational Therapists who loves kids and works tirelessly to help them overcome some of their developmental challenges. She loves to play in the dirt and grow things, including flowers, vegetables, berries, fruit and friendships. She grew up on a 12,000 acre sheep farm in Western Australia and though she's lived in this country for some time, she still speaks with a funny accent.

Mike is from the Midwest, and works in the nonprofit sector and higher education. Bitten by the travel bug early in life, he's lived and worked in Yosemite National Park, completed a 4,000 mile bicycle tour in the US and a 2,000 mile bicycle tour in Europe. His work in community service, missions, youth development and nonprofit management have allowed him to see the world and meet folks from all different cultures - loving every bit of it. He is a student of leadership and community building, and has a masters degree in Organizational Leadership from Eastern University.

Together we love to camp or stay at B&Bs when we travel. We love the outdoors and believe there is something spiritual about spending time in the woods without the noise that we've become so accustomed to. Our hope is to share our special little piece of creation with our guests - to help them unplug, unwind and discover some real peace - on the outside and inside!
