We're looking for long-term renters who want the 360 views, a 5 minute walk to the square, living in Upper Ajijic and not in the village or out of town, walk almost everywhere. Price includes gas, phone, electric, WiFi, cable.
This is NOT in a gated community, NOT for someone who can't climb stairs (i.e. circular staircase to the mirador) & NOT for someone who would rather be at the Hyatt rather than experience local Mexico.

Questions? We'll give honest answers, we want this to be a Win-Win.

We had great contact with the owners prior to arriving. We were given tons of information on the area, restaurants and Mexican holidays and customs. The place was clean and very unique. A well equipped kitchen, as well as an incredible mirador. It is a tall property with lots of stairs. The stairs to the mirador are tricky but we soon got used to them. The neighbourhood is truly authentic Mexican. It is very loud. Rooster, dogs, parties, rockets, cowboy bands etc. A once in a lifetime experience living in a true Mexican community. The location is awesome as it is close to the village square, male on and buses. The mirador views are stunning. We would def return. Our only complaint if you could count it as one is the shower. We are definitely spoiled at home. All in all a great space. You need to be in good walking health to truly enjoy the home and the area.

The hosts and the property management company were great! They were all very responsive to any questions we had. The casita is rustic and cozy and comfortable. The internet was perfect! The location is great. The neighborhood is a vibrant, bustling, real Mexican one. Vendors come by the door announcing their products, such as fresh bread, fresh fish, fresh vegetable, etc. Everything is within walking distance. Ajijic is magical and we certainly recommend this place! If I had to make a few suggestions to the owners, it would be to add a few more kitchen essentials [blender, sharp knife set, spoons, mixing bowls] and to put a pump in to increase the water pressure, especially in the upstairs bathroom. But this is great place for the money! Thank so much Shanna and Jim!

We think it is one of the best locations in Ajijic with a 360 degree view from the mirador. Just minutes walk from the Central Plaza and numerous small fresh food shops. Only two blocks from the bus stop. A quiet friendly Mexican neighborhood with only a few expats. Just what we were looking for.

The house sits atop upper Ajijic and the mirador of course is on the top floor giving you a great view of the lake and mountains on the south side of the lake. If you're like me and get up early, you can enjoy your breakfast and coffee on the mirador while watching the sun come up. We watched many sunsets from the mirador as well. The house is well set up, furnished and very clean. We had some power failure issues which the owners and property managers worked very hard to correct. The problem was with the power company, not the house but they both worked very hard to make the problem go away. The only problem we had was the lack of parking, but if you do not have a vehicle, this, of course, will not be an issue for you.

Travel in Europe (Sienna!), NZ, Australia, Belize, Guatemala, and extensively in Mexico where we enjoy San Miguel de Allende but bought a home in Ajijic with fabulous 360 degree views of the lake, mountains, sunrises and sunsets. This jewel of Mexico should not be missed. We're vegetarians and eat out extensively in Ajijic and Chapala - Joco not so much. Great hot springs 20 minutes away from the house.
