Centrally located in inner-NE Portland between Mississippi and Alberta Arts neighborhoods and just 4 miles from downtown, our new little house is a modern-rustic one bedroom loft with high ceilings and lots of light. Beautiful, cozy, and clean! Family friendly!

The space

New, modern home. Concrete floors with radiant heat, reclaimed wood and metal for stairs/ladder and loft, dishwasher, washer/dryer, iron and ironing board, full bathroom with shower and lots of little touches for our guests.

Guest access

The Big Little House is all yours to enjoy! There is a small, semi-private side yard that is also yours.

This property features August Smart Lock which provides secure, keyless entry. You can lock and unlock the door with your smartphone, using a unique virtual key issued to you for the duration of your stay. You don't have to worry about losing or returning the keys again!

Interaction with guests

We are in the main house up front and are very happy to help you with anything you might need if we are home. Our backyard, in which our children play, is adjacent to the Big Little House. Please note the yard is shared.

Other things to note

The main floor living and sleeping area is easily accessible, but the stairs/ladder to the loft area is quite steep and not for those with limited mobility. You must be a confident, capable ladder climber, as you may need to descend the ladder in the night in order to use the bathroom.

Everything was perfect! Kristen is the perfect host - so friendly and welcoming! She and Chris responded to my queries in minutes, and I felt so well cared for. The space itself is spectacular, and my hosts even left me snacks and wine. Would happily stay again! Thanks again, Kristen And Chris!

Kristen and Chris's place is perfect! It's well located and they are awesome. The place is clean and the house is fully equipped. We were 4 and we were very comfortable. Also Kristen and Chris are there to help and if they not they response the messages instantly, and they are full of recomendations that make your stay very pleasant. If I come back to Portland I would love to stay here again

place was perfect and my family enjoyed labor day weekend in one of portland's best hoods. the home was impeccably clean. everything was well thought out; the layout, the toiletries, the wine and chocolate welcome gift, coffee and a french press and regular coffee maker, fully equipped kitchen and even a case of seltzer water to beat the unusual portland heat. in addition, i was able to get some of the best sleep in months in this very quiet neighborhood (even though it was walking distance to a ton of restaurants and shops) and plus the bed was super comfy. the communication was literally instantaneous. check in was seamless. your choice of a traditional key or keyless entry. one of the most valuable assets of any air bnb home is for the guest to be able to choose the type of communication they want; a lot or a little. and i truly appreciated the owners allowing me to make that determination. if you are looking for a well thought out, hip, low maintenance owners, impeccable, newly completed home to stay in (and who wouldn't?!), you found it. look no further.

We have never been to Portland and we were unsure of which area to choose a place to stay and we could not be more happy with our decision to stay in the Alberta area in Kristen and Chris's tiny house. Every restaurant suggestion Kristen provided was absolutely wonderful and we loved how close the house was to countless great places to eat and shop.

This is a wonderful place in a great neighborhood. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance; community garden down the street; and a beautiful park a few blocks away. Kristen is a charming hostess (didn't meet Chris), and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

Kristen and Chris's place was wonderful. From easy access with the August lock, to heated cement floors, getting in and getting cozy was simple. We were greeted with a large binder of info, menus, guides, etc and a giant bowl of snacks, plus a bottle of wine, and some staple items in the fridge. It's apparent they go out of their way to make their guests feel at home. The neighborhood is adorable, and 10 minutes from cute shops, groceries, restaurants and coffee. We spent a good amount of time walking around the neighborhoods. The Airbnb is just behind their main house, but we had a ton of privacy, and never once felt out of place, or that we were intruding. We had the opportunity to meet Kristen briefly as we were leaving for dinner one evening. She was very pleasant, and asked if there was anything we needed, and wanted to make sure we were comfortable. If we are ever back in Portland, we would be so happy to stay there again.

What a lovely little home! It was beautiful, very clean, and quite accommodating. There were many thoughtful details and little touches to make the experience very comforting and comfortable. Kristen was quite personable even though we didn't meet, due to my work schedule. Check in was easy and I was allowed to check in early which was so helpful. We walked everywhere we needed to go. I highly recommend this property.

Excited to begin hosting travelers in our new Big Little House. Kristen is a teacher by trade who is taking the year off to stay home with our wee one, and Chris works as an account director in branding/strategy. We love the outdoors, dance parties with our girls and eating out in Portland. Hope you find us both welcoming and gracious.
