Private artist’s flat. 3rd floor tenement walk up, in hustle and bustle of city. All modern facilities. Near Artschool, subway, buses, theatre, cinema, shops, restaurants, clubs and parks.

The space

This is a traditional sandstone tenament flat with typical large rooms and high ceilings. There are wooden floorboards throughout. It is a great flat with an artsy influence and is superbly situated as a base for enjoying all that Glasgow has to offer. It is a 4th floor flat (with no lift) and so keeping fit will be part of your visit! However once you reach the top floor a relaxing well equipped space awaits. A mere 5 minute walk will get you to Cowcaddens Underground station and 12 minutes to Buchanan Bus Station. The famous Glasgow School of Art is 5 minute walk and a further 5 minutes to the Willow Tearoom. Sauchiehall Street is a 10 minute walk and is a hub of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and supermarkets. A hop on the underground or a jump in a taxi will take you to the vibrant West End.

Guest access

You will have the whole flat at your disposal which has a grand, spacious feel and an array of mod cons. Gas central heating (its Scotland and it can get a bit chilly) and a fab strong shower with hot water available on demand. The kitchen includes a microwave and a dishwasher and you can use any cooking ingredients you want. There is ample table surfaces and powerpoints for using your laptop and yes we have wifi! There is a cosy living room if you need to lie in a darkened space(literally) and a TV and dvd player. Feel free to watch any of the dvds if you fancy. A washing machine is available and typical of the traditional Glasgow tenement is a pulley for drying clothes(very efficiently as it happens).
You will be in the heart of the city and some traffic noise is to be expected-its not New York though and the city does sleep. The flat itself is quiet.
Glasgow is such a wonderful city packed full of cool places and I want your stay to be as comfortable as possible and if I can help just ask.

Interaction with guests

I will be there to welcome you and show you round the flat and will be available should you need any further assistance. I know Glasgow pretty well and if I cant help I'm sure I can find someone that can.

Other things to note

There is no street parking outside the flat between 8am and 630pm Mon-Sat. Paid parking is available in the surrounding area.

Ailsa & her flat are terrific! She was very easily accessible, communicative and accommodating - all of which we enormously appreciated! The flat is not only charming and comfortable, but also perfectly situated as a launching pad to anywhere else in Glasgow. Lovely!

A very cozy apartment with a spacious bedroom and kitchen. The host was very welcoming, even had a few bottles of some special IPA's for us in the fridge! Highly recommended!

Great apartment, really spacious and in a great location. Well worth the cost. Only downside is the road noise but that is to be expected in the location. We were very impressed overall.

Great Location, literally fall out the door to the subway, easy strolling distance to bars/restaurants/cafe's. Area was clean and despite being close to a main road, unless you looked on a map you wouldn't know it was there. Super close to main bus depot as well.

Ailsa's place was excellent. It was really homely but with lots of lovely features. A quick walk from the train station, really well located for walking around the city. The house was equipped with everything you would need- including a hair dryer and a supply of tunnocks tea cakes essential for any Scotland trip! Ailsa was really communicative and left some really good tips in the house to help plan our stay. Really recommend!

I ended up booking Ailsa's place after having to cancel a previous Airbnb booking. And I'm so glad I did! I felt so much at home here, and hadn't slept as well in weeks. The apartment is clean, quiet and cozy, and bursting with character. Steps from the Cowcadden subway made it easy for me to get to work at the University, and it was also a short walk from Sauchiehall Street and the city centre. Great value all round. Thanks Ailsa!

My name is Ailsa and I love good food, cinema, theatre and love any destination that has these to offer! Ive just started hosting in my brothers flat while he works away. Glasgow is a great city and if I can be part of sharing it with other people I'll be happy.
