Interaction with guests

We work in the bar & restaurant located just below the hostel. The advantage of such a small town is that whenever you want to talk to someone you can go down to the bar and you will be welcomed. We will be at your disposal as much as possible. We know the area very well, so we can advise you the best paths to discover the beauty hidden between the ravines of Tamadaba.

El (URL HIDDEN) a restaurant-bar with spare rooms upstairs. Antonio and his wife are very very lovely and helpful people, even though they speak little Enlgish (Antonio does speak a bit more). I have not met the hosts themselves (Kevin and Daniel) but they helped me out when I got stuck in Galdar trying to get to my accommodation. Important to note that the last taxi-bus from Agaete up to El Risco is at around 19:30/40 every day and there are only a few services during the day (the Global bus company`s timetable on their website do not seem accurate though). The b&b is really far from everything and the serpentine leadinng up to it is about a 20min ride and can make you really sick (seasick feeling-too many bends). The b&b is up-mountain in a residential area, however during the night I could not decide what was louder:the dogs or the frogs (sometimes was difficult to fall asleep). However the rooms and the bathroom were spotless, shampoo/shower gel and towels you get. One double room had a small table, the other one had a wardrobe...looks like you can`t have everything, can you?:)) Wi-fi worked pretty well-as for being in the mountains. Antonio, the bartender and his wife were very lovely, even if they speak little English (Antonio speaks a bit more). He gave me some really nice and sweet drinks (ask for Miro and Ron Miel); their spanish omlette was delicious. However the regular omlette was floating in oil, so if you have an allergy or something, do not ask for regular omlette at breakfast; also got some pork stew which was really chewy and the chips underfried. The area around the b&b is just so scenic, absolutely perfect for trekking and hiking if this is what you are after. Waterfall (whose volume of water depends on the rarely seen rain on the island) and some reservoirs to go to.

I had a great time at the hostel! I stayed for 16 days. My arrival was made easy with instructions from Daniel beforehand about which buses to take from the airport to El Risco, the hostel location. The hostel is clean and comfortable and has everything you need, such as a small kitchen with fridge and cooker, a shower and a washing machine with a clothes line. The location of the hostel is great for walking and exploring the natural environment. A bus right outside will take you to Agaete in about 20 minutes. Kevin (Daniel's co-host) and his family are very friendly and approachable. They work very hard to run the hostel, restaurant and bar. It's great having the restaurant right downstairs whenever you are hungry. Kevin gave me good advice for local walks to check out. His mum and dad made a real effort to accommodate my vegetarian diet, which I really appreciated. Kevin's mum Maria is a great cook, making delicious vegetarian soups! I also enjoyed practising my Spanish with them. They are very kind and helpful people, even giving me a couple of free drinks :) I would recommend this hostel to others! :) A great place to disconnect from the world.

Great stay there! I had just one night, but it was really nice, the place is really easy reachable, the room and bathroom are clean and nice, I met great people Claudio and Antonio. Big advantage is that you can have a tasty meal just by going down from your room, Claudio cooks really good, and half portions are huuge! Also there is a beach 20 minutes away, where one can bath and of course the waterfall is also 25-30 minutes away, great walk there. I totally recommend the place to stay.

Daniel was very kind and present in his interaction with me prior to my arrival in his accommodation. The hostel is located in a very tranquil and natural place, immersed in the beautiful park. The owners of the Café right under the hostel are amazingly nice, I could not have asked for a better treatment. Very sweet and honest, they made me feel safe and very welcome. I had the chance to ask them about that part of the island and I was very happy to listen to their stories. I feel very lucky to have met such lovely people. Thank you Daniel!
