This is the place you should go! The house is located in a farm with some friendly animals. Beautiful sunset and sun rise from your bed. Breakfast was insane, all fresh, home grown. Mike is super nice and will go above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant as possible. This visit will be remembered as the best airbnb I've been to. It will be hard to top this one :)

When you book a stay via Airbnb, you really don't know what you will get after you check in. Our staying at Mike's place was way beyond our expectation! I wish we could stay longer! Perhaps we can even make a trip to stay at Mike's place only for the purpose of relaxation and enjoying his wonderful hospitality. Mike's place is located in between Hobart and Port Arthur. The room is situated in the center of his farm, away from his main house, and is surround with beautiful flowers and farm animals, such as chickens, ducks, turkeys, and sheep. Sitting in the patio area, you can enjoy the ocean view across the farmland. If it is not overcast, you can enjoy the beautiful sunrise while sipping your coffee in the morning. The room is large and is tastefully decorated. When we traveled during the early spring, we didn't feel a slight of coldness. Plus, the bedsheets are very comfortable as well. If you ever stay at Mike's farm, make sure to let him cook dinner for you! The dinner was served in his main dining room with fine china and candlelights. We ordered tendered steak and seafood appetizers, plus dessert. The appetizer platter came with oysters served in two ways, scallop in a creamy source, smoked salmon, and beet salad. The steak was perfectly grilled, served with sautéed cabbage and other farm vegetables. Each of the side dish had its own unique flavor and complemented perfectly with the steak. The desert we had was apple crumble which was amazing as well. I personally think myself as a foodie since I've been eating at least 10 Michelin 3-star restaurants around the world. Thus, I didn't expect much when I asked him to cook for me; I would expect a rustic country style meal. To my surprise, the dinner that we had was such a fine dinning experience! It was the best meal that we had in Tasmania or perhaps it is one of the best we had in Australia! Since we were so satisfied with the dinner, we asked him to cook breakfast for us, which was egg benedict, with his homemade bread and preserves. Almost all the ingredients that he used were from his own farm! On top of that, It was extremely reasonable! I would easily pay double the price for the food that we received at Mike's. Staying at Mike's place is definitely the highlight of our Tasmanian trip! I hope some day we can revisit his place and of course we will stay much longer next time!

We arrived in the pouring rain when it was freezing, to a gorgeous little cabin where Mike had already put the wood fire on for us to warm us up! We were so impressed that it had everything you could need for such a perfectly compact place. There were even freshly clean and bundled dressing gowns with two chocolates on them. The bed is super comfy too. Luckily the next day we awoke to wonderful sunshine and wandered around the farm enjoying the animals before having breakfast cooked by Mike. Oh my goodness what a delicious breaky Mike makes! Everything is fresh from his farm; beautiful. I even asked Mike for his frittata recipe as it was so good. This is a fab place to stay. Definitely stop here on your next trip to Tassie.
