In the middle of Amsterdam, a 5 minutes walk away from the noise of the big city surrounded by canals lies a little, quiet and beautiful island called Prinsenisland, with characteristic warehouses and wonderful gardens.

The place itself has elements of design and has a warm and authentic atmosphere.

A 5 minute walk is....The Haarlemmerstreet with its numerous small shops and restaurants is a famous shopping street in Amsterdam. The Noordermarkt has a wonderfull market on saturdays and mondays.
The Westerpark has something for everybody, markets, culture, movie theatre, restaurants etc. It is a wonderfull 10 minute walk to the Ann Frank Museum. The nearby tram (3 minutes) takes you to all the big museums (Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk Museum and the Concertgebouw. The big grocery stores you can find on the Haarlemmerplein (3 minute walk).Central station is on walking distance but it is also possible to take bus 18. Nearby you can take a ferry to the new hip and happening Amsterdam north, tot visit the filmmuseum, the hip restaurants and markets/festivals. It is great to come home to a quiet and warm home after a day in the exciting wonderfull city of Amsterdam. You can rent a boot or a bike nearby.

The apartment was nice and cosy and the surroundings were really great. Everything was as described, the apartment was well equiped (everything functional) and quiet. Its situation was good, and we were able to visit the whole center of Amsterdam by walking from there. Overall we enjoyed it a lot and had a good time at Marijje's place and in Amsterdam.

This was a fantastic apartment located in a great location, just outside the loud hustle and bustle of the city. It was very clean and spacious, perfect for a girl's getaway. We were, however, disappointed with a few aspects of this bnb. 1. The internet was not working when we got there and it took many phone calls and probably 1 hour of time to try to figure out where the wireless router was located to reset it. 2. We were left with very little toilet paper and did not realize this until 10 PM when we ran out and all of the stores were closed. 3. Cold showers! There was no warm water in the apartment so I sent a message to the host. She responded by asking if I had reset the heating system and telling me her colleague could stop by that day. I told her I had not reset the heating system but would be happy to do this if she could tell me where it was, otherwise I would love if someone could stop by... then I never heard back. Cold showers all 3 days. There are definitely some kinks to work out here.

She is a late-responsor that a day before arrival, we tried to contact her but never responded so that we finally contacted through airbnb service system. Wifi never worked and the host promised to fix it but she NEVER came to the house during our stay for a WEEK. It was really hard to be in touch with her cause she never responded. If you are really patient and dont really mind and urgent looking for a house, it might be a house but i would never recommend this if you were my friend.
