About this listing

We are sharing our "happy place". Cozy, family-friendly cottage has everything you need to enjoy a lovely vacation in a quintessential New England town. Ideally located between Guilford's famous green, gorgeous harbor and town beach, easily walk everywhere. High-season/weekend rate reflected in general view--check for actual.

Recommended for groups of up to 4 (5 if with kids), more that that can be accommodated but will be close quarters (unless short stay, or "home base" for active people).

The space

This is a 1 bedroom with a queen bed, 2 closets and dresser space.

Sunroom "big bed" is a king bed but also serves as a great place to lay back and enjoy movies, wii or a great book. It is adjacent to main living area with a pass through and open doorway, so we've installed a curtain over the pass through and provide a screen that can be placed by the doorway to allow for some privacy.

Gather around a puzzle or classic game in the living room with ample room for family and guests.

The dining area table expands to seat 6 to 8 and the hutch is stocked with linens and serving ware.

Large galley kitchen is stocked with plenty of cookware, dishes, glasses and more.

The favorite spot in the house is out of the house on the screened porch. Comfy seating on sturdy antique wicker, or relax on the lounge chair. We even placed a small table and chairs for those who want to eat al fresco without the bother of bugs. The chest is loaded with games and puzzles for hours of device-free enjoyment.

Huge side yard is great for badminton or other yard games. Also has a hammock for a lazy afternoon nap.

Small patio off the screen porch has a small bbq and table and chairs for outdoor cooking and dining. (Seasonally)

We have adult bikes (2 vintage style beach bikes; 1 mountain bike), yard games, beach and camp chairs, beach and rain umbrellas and more.

Driveway accommodate 2-3 cars.

Guest access

Everything for a fabulous vacation or short getaway is available - linens and towels, beach gear, games, bikes, bbq, fully stocked kitchen and more. Just bring your clothing and stop at the local Bishops, Big Y, or Fresh Market for your provisions. Or forget the provisions and walk to town or the harbor for breakfast, lunch and dinner at Guilford's outstanding eateries! There is also the Guilford Marketplace for quick provisions a quick walk into town.

Wonderful, family friendly small cottage. It's perfect for families with small children with nothing that is dangerous. She even provided child safety items! Great host, super friendly. Perfect place to chill. Great backyard, walk to town. I highly recommend it!

This was our first Airbnb experience and it was absolutely amazing. The house was wonderful and Jeanne really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The house was comfortable and filled with special touches and goodies, and we had tons of information about things to do in the area. The beach passes were also highly appreciated! 5 stars across the board.

Jeanne's house is warm, inviting, comfortable, and adorable. We ended up spending the majority of our trip hanging out on the screened in porch. Her hospitality goes above and beyond - we wanted for nothing with everything from coffee, snacks, toothpaste, and razors at our disposal - not to mention emergency twinkles! We will be back to Guilford to enjoy the sunroom and beautiful coastline even more

Jeanne is a gracious and thoughtful host. The home is perfectly located within walking distance to all the amenities the area has to offer - beach, harbor, town green, shops, restaurants, train station, etc. The house is welcoming with quintessential New England coastal charm. Truly, a little gem.

Great place to relax and enjoy the surrounding areas---Guilford itself is a beautiful town with lots of great restaurants! If you have a car, you must head to Hammonasett Beach in the town over, although the water was cold as we expected, we still had a wonderful time and my 2yo loved it. We also drove to do the Thimble Islands boat tour. The train station is just a quick 5min walk so if you are coming via train it's super easy to get to. Also, do go to the Whitfield Museum across the way from the house---pretty sepactucular that it was built in the 1600s. As for the house, it had everything you might possibly need---we cooked and grilled a few nights, as well as stayed in for breakfast daily. Jeanne makes sure to set you up with the basics (+some) so you aren't worried about going to the market, but if you have to the stores around the square (15-20min walk) or Bishops Orchards aren't too far away. There's a cute smaller beach not far from the house either. We had a great week and my son can't stop talking about "our vacation house" :)

The house was cozy, comfortable and really welcoming. The host left treats that were so thoughtful and much appreciated! The house was really well appointed and we especially loved the screened in porch area. Also, the town go Guilford is so picturesque and had some lovely shops and restaurants. The host's recomendations on those were great as well. All in all we had a perfect time!

Jeanne User ProfileJeanne is a superhost.

I love free time to be spent with a equal balance of old and new. Traveling to favorite spots and trying out new ones, spending time with family and long-time friends and meeting new ones, and seeking modern and antique finds.

A great way to do that is with a bit of adventure at heart. Adventure days are a family tradition, whether a short or long day, at least once a week make a loose plan to do something adventurous, try something different or go someplace new. Then when the adventure is a success (most are), share and enjoy that experience with a friend. An a new twist is now, as a host, I get to share those adventure ideas with guests!
