The living area pictured next to the room is very pleasant and the garden it faces is even prettier than the pictures. It is a pleasant place to hang out in (there are evening mosquitos, be prepared!), but it is a shared if not very frequented place. Adult members of the family will come down to smoke there but if they know it bothers you, they will keep a distance. This place might be a better choice for smokers. The room itself is very small, with little space to organize your stuff. There are nice touches like lamps to make it cozy, but I was surprised at the size. There is a distant rumor of city traffic - it is near the main road - but it does remain distant, and there are lovely birds and their songs. The price might be appropriate for what is considered a desirable area, although I found it a bit high for the size of the room and the lack of private bathroom facilities, compared to many other places where I stayed in Senegal. I was accurately informed of all this, however. There is a toilet next door with a low tap, helpful, but no sink or mirror etc. I have had a private bathroom in many instances for less. Up four stairs and into the house there is a shared bathroom with very hot water, which is great. The wifi is good too. Youri is a very nice man and an excellent successful photographer. He took me into an exhibit in the center on his motorbike, along the Corniche, that was an experience! And he gave me a ride to the airport at midnight, which was very kind indeed. Merci, Youri! Adja tries to be a good hostess, checks in sometimes, etc, but her family life seems to affect her moods and manners sometimes. Self control is an aspect of courtesy. I do know that dealing with a darling (we loved each other) but highly energetic and demanding toddler can be trying, but efforts can be made to ease and lighten the atmosphere for guests. They also have a sweet intelligent six year old girl, who is easy to talk to and well behaved. She is a non-problem. So my feelings are mixed - and, sorry, but I would not go back.
