The space

The Hawk's Nest Houseboat is a 42' houseboat located at Fremont Wharf Marina. This is a small marina with about 7 houseboats, some of which are quite luxurious. The boat has 2 staterooms, 2 bathrooms, a main salon with dining area and a well-stocked kitchen. There is a nice sized deck on the aft main floor and a very spacious upper deck with benches.

The location looks out over Lake Union to sailboats and floating homes. Located right next to Burke Gilman trail, you have a tranquil waterfront walk just steps out your door. This location is also located in the heart of Fremont, an artistic, eclectic, Seattle Neighborhood with lots of fun, food, and entertainment.

Guest access

You'll have full access to the entire boat but may not pilot or move the boat without owner permission and special insurance. The boat is in a secure marina with a locked gate. The area is surprisingly quiet, for being in an urban location, so you can expect a peaceful stay on The Hawk's Nest

The Hawk's Nest is a great destination. The houseboat is just lovely, the setting is amazing and the general location is fantastic, not too far from downtown and walking distance to everything you could need. We had a wonderful time.

Without any hesitation, I recommend staying aboard the Hawk's Nest if you are looking for a minimalist Seattle (Fremont/Ballard) experience. The boat is very clean and linens were fresh (for a boat, I wondered if it would be damp)...this is a very comfortable stay. We were looking for a new experience while visiting Seattle, not the normal high priced hotel room w/ loud road noise...this fit perfectly and was so much more. We are an adventurous family of four and travel light! We fit great in the Hawks Nest with room to spare. The location is surprisingly private, yet so close to EVERYTHING. We walked to Ballard, Fremont, and the U district and saw new sights with every outing--not to mention stones throw from the Troll. Thanks to the hosts for sharing a fun comfortable option for visitors! BTW- we took LYFT (or Uber) from Stadium for under $20.

Fantastic experience. The Hawk's Nest is a cozy and comfortable boat. On the days that we had sun the Hawk's Nest was sunny from the morning until late into the afternoon- you could not pick a more cheerful spot. Loved the area; being next to the bike path and the rowing club meant there was always something to watch. Easy walk to Gas Works Park to watch the sunset. Fremont shops with some great restaurants are an easy few minutes walk. Close to buses for downtown and Ballard. The highlight of our time in Seattle was using the kayaks and we took them out on the lake most days. Kevin always replied promptly to any queries. Highly recommended.

There is no nearby parking. And what is available you either have to pay for or be ready to walk a bit. Be ready for a very tiny place (especially the bathrooms.) It is a boat so it is boat sizes. Also the electricity has some issues, if you want to use a curling iron you may blow the fuse.

Response from Kevin:
Shauna asked for money, broke the marine toilets by putting tampons in them despite signs right next to toilet indicating nothing but toilet paper. Fridge broke while Shauna was there and we were unable to get a marine refrigerator repair. We brought over ice blocks to keep things cool, but she was there only 1 more day and had nothing in the fridge. No odor was detected. We informed her of 30 amp limit before her arrival. The Hawk's Nest is a boat and is limited to dock shore power. Our reviews have been nothing but positive, except for this review. NON-Typical guest.
