This is one of the rooms in a 4-bedroom (each room can take 2-4 people) ancestral house with modern amenities which can serve as a base from where to explore the many interesting places around Kalibo, Aklan and the nearby towns & provinces .
This is one of the rooms in a 4-bedroom house with high ceilings, big and airy windows, and furniture that remind you of the slow and leisurely times of the past. The property has been our family's home for decades. Now that family members no longer reside permanently in the place, we have decided to open our ancestral home to guests to serve as a base from where to explore the many interesting places around Kalibo, Aklan and the nearby towns and provinces of Iloilo ( 3-4 hours away), Capiz (1.5 hours away), and Antique (1 hour away), usually before or after a trip to the more famous Boracay Island.
Rooms and Nooks
The recent renovation modernized the bathrooms and installed other amenities like airconditioners in the bedrooms for the guests' comfort. Each bedroom can accommodate up to 4 people (if you don't mind sharing beds). All of the rooms have private bathrooms, with another bathroom in the hallway of the second floor.
A formal living room is located on the ground floor, and the second floor bedrooms surround a lounging area perfect for chatting with other guests.
There is a pavilion located at the back of the house where one may hang out and meet others while having breakfast or just lounging around in a bamboo day bed. An uncle has a collection of paperbacks that may be borrowed and read while sitting in a plantation chair positioned to give one a nice view of the garden.
Guests may use common lounge areas such as the living room in the ground floor, second floor family room, the dining area and an open pavilion at the rear of the house.
Interaction with guests
I stay in the house about one week in a month but I can easily be contacted for help if needed. There is a permanent caretaker who can provide some assistance to guests.
Other things to note
When planning a trip to Boracay, undoubtedly the most popular attraction in our place, vans and cars can bring you there in a hour or so. We can suggest other interesting, off-the-beaten-track places to visit and other things to do while in town. There is a thriving food scene in town as more restaurants, coffee shops and small dining places abound.
Guests are expected to treat all other guests and the house itself with much respect and consideration for the welfare of others.
1. Only registered guests are allowed inside the premises.
2. Guests are expected to keep the rooms and entire premises clean and orderly. Loud noise, voices, music, etc. that may disturb others is discouraged.
3. All items inside the rooms and the house may be enjoyed by the guests while inside the house and are not to be brought outside at any time.
4. A no smoking policy is strictly enforced.
5. Guests are requested to be inside the premises by 11:00 p.m.
6. No cooking is allowed inside the rooms or other areas of the house.
