At home in the heart of Arcata, The Front Porch is your hidden oasis. Our cozy studios are fully equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay in Humboldt. Close proximity to downtown and HSU makes getting around super easy. Have a drink on the covered porch or relax by the pond. Snuggle up & Netflix. Make yourself at home!
This cute and cozy unit is within walking distance to Arcata's Plaza with local shops and amazing restaurants, Om Shala Yoga studio, and Redwood Curtain Brewery. Humboldt State University is just a quick bike or 2 minute drive away, and the Ma'leil Dunes are a fantastic adventure that's just down the road on Samoa Boulevard. The Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary is less than a five minute walk down the road.
Enter the private courtyard through a coded gate. Unit #3 is on the right side of the property (to the right of the pond when entering the courtyard, third door). Guests have access to everything inside this unit, along with use of our bistro tables, and benches throughout the luscious courtyard. Please use the space, that's what its there for!
Other things to note
Humboldt County requires a 12% short-term occupancy/bed tax (required from all hotels and vacation rentals in Humboldt Co.), and AirBnB does not collect this tax so you will receive a special message from us with that minor alteration to your rate to include that tax.--
Our parking lot is secured behind an automatic gate and remotes are available for your use. It is a small parking lot and requires mindfulness to navigate. We have installed various safety features, but please park at your own risk.
All of our units are NO SMOKING and guests will be charged $250 if evidence of cigarette smoking is found in the unit.
Cats are NOT ALLOWED in the units. Guests will be charged $250 if evidence of cat occupation is found in the unit.
Both of these rules are for the safety and comfort for all of our tenants and guests. Thank you for understanding.
#3 shares walls on both sides, so keeping noise down after 9 is a great way to be respectful. The courtyard is available for use and is communally kept clean, so please pick up after yourself and use the trash cans provided.
Dog owners, your pals are accepted on a case-by-case basis. Please inform us of the demeanor/type of dog in a message before you plan to book. And once accepted, all we ask is that you please pick up after your pets in the courtyard, and do your best to help with the dog hair woes by keeping them off the furniture and definitely off the beds. Thanks!

I've lived in Arcata for nine years and I'm so happy to call this beautiful place home. I moved here to attend HSU and received a degree in Elementary Education. Now my husband and I live in Blue Lake on our farm where we are raising almost eight-hundred fruit and nut trees and a small herd of beef cattle, which we sell at the Arcata Farmers Market on Saturdays (a must-visit if you're here on a weekend!!).
