Amazing location. Great apartment. Very nice host. If you travel with kids this is a place to choose. Spacious, clean, full of toys. Instructions how to enjoy our neighborhood were very helpful. Welcome bottle of red wine was included. Communication was not a problem. We would love to come back.

We have just returned from our week in Berlin, staying at Cecile's apartment. We took bikes for the whole family (5 of us including children of 11, 15 and 19) and all had such a fantastic time, exploring the city and cycling many miles every day (though always finding time for a rest and beer/ice cream in one of the many parks). The hardest thing was the climb to the 4th floor after so much exercise, but this is a wonderful apartment that I would recommend to all, and I really hope we will be able to return one day.

We booked the apartment for friends and they were very happy there. It is located in a very nice area with restaurants and grocery shops around. The apartment is very big and very cosy. What we love the most is that they live there and rent it just during their holidays, as it should always be, so it doesn't make the rental prices to rise, neither affects the neighbourhood! Cecile was a great host and communication was always easy!

The house is huge, spacious and equipped with all the necessities. Cecile was very hands on in making sure that we are informed of how to go around Berlin, which is highly appreciated. She is very accommodating to attend to our needs. The only downside is the fact that there is no lift in the building, which we are aware anyway. This is something one needs to consider if you have luggages as the flight of stairs are stiff and the flat is on the 3rd (but looks like 4th as you start with level 0). Don't forget to bring your flashlight if you will be home in the evening as there is no light in the stairwell.

Response from Cecile:
Dear Gigi, thanks for your nice words. It was a pleasure to host you and your family at our place. I know that the stairs are quite stiff, well keeping us fit :) Regarding the light in the staircase, oh dear, I am sorry to hear that you did not find it, there are light switches at every (URL HIDDEN) no need for a flashlight :) Hope you had a nice trip back home- Kind regards-

The apartment is really nice and near to the Bernauerstrasse u-bahn station. It is the apartment of Cecile and her family, where they live during the year (except when they have guests!) so it is well equipped with everything you'll need. It also will keep you in perfect shape, because you will have to do 74 steps to reach the apartment!

Cecile was very accommodating. As she was out of town when we arrived, she arranged to leave us the keys, which we found easily. She also recommended great places in the neighborhood for park for the kids, Eco/bio markets and restaurants. The house was comfortable, equipped with baby cot and high chair. We went the end of December and didn't even need to put the heat on. The play room for the kids was great and the fact that the flat didn't have a TV was a welcome surprise. The piano was also a plus! The neighborhood was quiet, with great shops, boutiques, cafes, markets and parks, and an amazing vintage flea market on Sunday. The only thing I would keep in mind was that you'll have to bring luggage up 3 flights of stairs (we kept the baby stroller downstairs at the entryway). Public transport a 5 minute walk, or about a 20-25 minute walk (with kids) to Hackescher Markt. We would definitely recommend Cecile's flat for anyone, especially those traveling with kids.

We liked the fact that Cecile's place was advertised as an ideal flat for families and this turned out to be an accurate description. My family loved staying here for 3 nights. The flat is spacious, clean and ideally located near to Prenzlberg and Mitte. Within a short walk there are great cafes and restaurants, several parks for the kids and the U-Bahn at Rosenthaler Platz, only 2 stops from Alexanderplatz. The Mauer Park and route of the wall along Bernauer Strasse are also close by. Thank you Cecile for a great stay.
