Once known as Ceol na Habhainn, Gaelic for 'music of the river', No.3, is a traditional stone built Eco-renovated cottage (with its own private Scandinavian cedar wood sauna), in a tranquil riverside setting in the village of Stradbally, perfectly placed to explore the beautiful and wild Dingle Peninsula.

The space
The accommodation comprises of:

- Ground floor open plan living room with log burner (some logs provided for the first night or 2) and electric air-to-air heating/cooling.
- Fully equipped kitchen with all you need to self cater, including dishwasher, hob, oven and microwave, and a breakfast bar with seating for 4.
- Bathroom with on demand shower, toilet and luxury underfloor heating.
- A cosy Scandinavian cedar wood sauna perfect for warming you up after a day of water sports or mountain walking.
- First floor open plan mezzanine bedroom with double bed.
- Second floor twin room with sea view.

The garden area has a peaceful and sheltered terraced seating area overlooking the babbling river, perfect for planning your day over a cup of coffee, or having a relaxing evening BBQ. There is also private parking.

Other things to note
Eco home credentials:
Much of the materials in No.3 are reclaimed and up-cycled, and where this wasn't possible we have tried to choose environmentally friendly alternatives, such as native larch cladding, sheeps wool insulation, and recyclable steel roofing. Heating is from a high efficiency air-to-air heat exchange unit and a ‘carbon neutral' log burner.

For most of the year the river runs very gently but on occasion after heavy rain it can become quite powerful. For this reason and because of the terracing we would advise small children not be left to play unsupervised in the garden area.

Bed linen and towels provided, and also tea, coffee, and home baked cookies for your arrival.

Maximum 4 people.

Check in and check out times are usually 5pm and 11am respectively but we may be able to adjust these on request. As long as know one is leaving/arriving the same day we will endeavour to accommodate your needs, there is nothing worse than finishing a relaxing holiday with an early wake up call!

Location

Stradbally Beach, Kerry, Ireland

It's located a short distance from the main road, in the village of Stradbally, 13 miles from Dingle, via the stunning Connor Pass, Ireland's highest mountain road, and 13 miles from Tralee. The famous village pub Tomasins is a stones throw away, serving good food and Chinese takeaway, and it's a 15 min stroll down a quiet lane to the beach.
Less than 3 miles away is the village of Castlegregory with further amenities, including a supermarket, cafes, restaurants, pubs, a post office, doctor's surgery, a Church, and a pharmacy.
Particularly well known for its water sports, the area is named Kerry's Gold Coast, it offers world class surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, and also standup paddle boarding, diving and fishing. There are 2 activity centres on the Maharees, a short distance on from Castlegregory, which have qualified instructors and equipment for hire. Or I will be happy to share some of my local knowledge if you have your own equipment and just want some pointers.

If getting so familiar with the sea doesn't appeal, you can choose form a huge range of other activities:
- Pony trekking along Brandon Bay's 7 miles of golden sand, with stunning views of the wild Atlantic and the mountains of the Dingle Peninsula.
- Climb to the top of Mount Brandon, which at nearly 1000m offers unbeatable panoramas of the area.
- Get on your bike (hire available in Castlegregory) conquer the Connor pass and follow the Wild Atlantic Way around the beautiful Slea Head.
- A round of golf on Castlegregory's links course.
- On a rainy day head for Dingle, visit it's magical aquarium, and sample some of Dingle's fine food and drink.
- Or just grab good book and a coffee and relax by babbling river at the bottom of the garden.

There is a small private alleyway dividing our home and your's so we won't be disturbing each other, but we are within easy reach to answer any questions, fix any problems or just have a good natter if you wish. My wife works full time but I'm generally not too far away if you need anything.
