Unique rustic style building built from recycled materials where possible to look like an old wooden church. We provide good, clean, comfortable 3 star accommodation suitable for 1 or 2 couples or a family. Situated on a small hill with magnificent views over farmlands to the sea & the Seaward Kaikoura Ranges. Fully self contained, you just need food etc.
Two storied house with large lounge room. Two separate bedrooms down stairs, one with a queen size bed & the other with 2 singles. One queen size bed upstairs within kitchen/dining lounge area. Upstairs is like a studio apartment.
Whether it is a couple, 2 couples or family, the whole house is yours. The Artists Retreat although a short distance from our house is nice & private.
Interaction with guests
We live on the property which is a small life style farm with pet animals you can hand feed. It is your holiday so we leave you to enjoy yourselves but are available to answer questions & to help with anything needed. Our pet farm animals love to be patted. We provide bread & carrots to hand feed them.

The Artists Retreat is strictly NON smoking. Although we clean after you depart we ask you to respect the Artists Retreat & leave it clean & tidy. If you break or damage something please tell us... we don't bite !!
NOTE. All children over the age of 12 months are charged for at the additional guests rate. Under 12 months are free. There is a port a cot available for babies.
For technical reasons we do not have Wi Fi or internet connection in the Artists Retreat. How ever if it is important or urgent our laptop is available in our house. There is free Wi Fi available in town. The nearest is the New World Supermarket which is only several minutes away.

My wife is Australian & we came to live here from Australia in 2000 .Keen on classic cars, motor racing & travel. Both Karen (my artist wife) & I enjoy meeting people from different parts of the world.
