Absolutely stunning views, beautiful building and friendly hosts. We fed their animals, walked their grounds and explored their art gallery. Comfy rustic house. Would recommend.

From the tree-lined drive to the bird-filled hill-top, there is no place that compares with Homewood Hill in all of Kaikoura. Relaxing, charming, quirky, artsy, and spacious. "Where the air is clear as crystal, and the white stars fairly blaze".

Just as the pictures show, a most beautifully located place, close to 'town' but 'in the country' with views of ocean out one window and snowy mountains out the other. House is warm with an easily maintained wood fire and all that is needed for cooking in and staying in by the fire and TV if you don't want to head into nearby Kaikoura ( a few minutes). Hosts are very warm and just up the drive for any advice or assistance needed. They are creative and interesting people! Beds are comfy. One set of stairs up to cooking area and additional sleeping space, living space, bedroom and bath on the entrance level. We were very happy there for three nights (couple with young adult daughter).

Stunning location with amazing views. Retreat was very specious and had everything we needed. Bob was there to welcome us, already had the fire going and gave us a great run down on Kaikoura with lots of tips on how to get the most out of our visit. Loved the quirkiness of the retreat and the clever up-cycling. Enjoyed perusing Karen's gallery and feeding the animals. Will recommend to our family and friends.

The retreat have a nice view, spectacular view on second floor. Lovely animals. You have everything you need. I will find another holiday in winter to spend some days with my family. Cozy and relaxing stay. Bob light up the fireplace before we arrived which is so sweet!
