The self catering accommodation sleeps 3. There is parking for 1 car.
Not suitable for children under 8, and anyone with mobility problems & large luggage will be a challenge.
Due to the structure of the building the beams in the attic are low so tall people should take note.

The space
This self catering 2 bedroom holiday accommodation was originally the servants quarters (and latterly a jet workshop) in the ‘Old Manor House’ built circa 1740 by Sir Adam Boulby who owned the now defunct tenements that formed ‘Boulby Bank’ and the footpath that takes you down and back from the harbour and town.

The stairs to the apartment are steep and narrow(not standard) and not suitable for people with mobility problems or young children. Also large luggage will be challenging to manage.
The self catering facilities include a combination microwave oven (microwave, small fan oven and grill all-in-one), also a twin ring ceramic hob, sink, fridge, toaster and kettle. Note: there is not a standard large scale oven in this accommodation.
Wifi is free with unlimited availability after signing our internet access terms & conditions.
The accommodation is all electric including the heating.
You will be able to park on the drive (One car only) and reach the accommodation via its own dedicated door. Enter 34 The Ropery, Whitby North Yorkshire on your Sat Nav to arrive at our driveway entrance.

Whitby is the place where James Cooks ships were built, ie the Endeavour, the Discovery and the Resolution (see gallery 'View from front windows you will see the original shipyard now a car park'), This is where Bram Stoker had his inspiration for his novel 'Dracula' and the dates for Easter were settled at Whitby Abbey.

There are lots of tangible remains of these facts still in Whitby, a town that has changed little for hundreds of years.

Robin Hoods Bay is a short drive and/or a more leisurely bus ride away (given the parking problems there). Or for the more active walker the next call on the well known 'Cleveland Way'.

The accommodation is a Non Smoking venue and definitely 'No Candles'. Sadly we do not allow pets.

Where you’ll be

Whitby, England, United Kingdom

We are on the east side of Whitby, short walk to the abbey which is at the top of the 199 steps.
On descending the steps you are onto the cobbled streets of the old side of Whitby where you will find a variety of eating places & pubs.
When you walk down cobbled Boulby Bank, turn right(water on your left)& continue into town or to the beach.
