Travelers, here is your chance to stay in a home that is famous in Nevada City for being the supper club, Polly's Paladar! Bring your friends over for brunch and experience the chef's kitchen, soak under the stars in the back patio's hot tub, chill out on the front porch with your glass of wine, and walk all over the place knowing that you are the key holder to the secret space everyone wants to be in! Over half of Nevada County has dined within these walls, but only YOU can dream here!

The space

Because this home moonlights as a supper club, the living room is perpetually set up as such. You will not find a typically living room arrangement here. The couch, in the house, is in the bedroom. Think of it this way, you can play musical tables while you dine!

Guest access

Guests will have access to the hot tub, washer/dryer, office nook, full chef's kitchen, bathroom, wifi, all downtown restaurants/pubs/boutiques/festivals, kitchen appliances, and piano! The house runs on SOLAR power, so you will rest easy knowing that. Bedding and bathroom towels are provided.

Sorry, no driveway parking. I share with the neighbor and you could accidentally block each other in.

Pets are fine as long as they are house broken.

Interaction with guests

I can interact with you as much or as little as you want/need.

Other things to note

Trash pick-up in on Tuesday mornings. Sometimes it can be a rude awakening, especially if you have the window down to cool the house at night. I believe my mother called it "apocalyptic" sounding.... things to consider...

The back patio is a shared space with my neighbor who lives in the carriage house attached to mine. If you choose to hang out back there, know that she also might care to. Take the volume down a notch past 10pm so as not to disturb her.

Because my home is also directly linked to my business (see Polly's Paladar Supper Club), I expect the utmost respect of the items in the house and the home itself. Nothing here is purposeless. I can provide anything you could possibly need, but not without reciprocity of holding this space with the same courtesy.

Lastly, 10% of daily rate occupancy/bed tax payment is required upon check-in (no credit cards, cash preferred). ($15/night on our regular rate of $150). This is a tax we then pay to Nevada City. Just trying to follow the rules here!

We had a lovely stay at Megan's spot in Nevada City. This cute house is in the perfect location—just a short walk to cafes, restaurants and shopping, and right next to the highway that takes you to some great Yuba River spots. I must admit I was worried that the house would be uncomfortable since the whole living room is made up with only dining tables and no couch, but it was great! We had a nice dinner in the main room, then lounged on the porch, on the back patio, or on the couch in the bedroom. Would highly recommend planning to cook so you can enjoy the chef's kitchen. :)

I can't recommend this place enough! It's a lovely home in a great location--easy walking distance from the restaurants and shops downtown. It was a really relaxing place to stay (I love the backyard in particular!). Megan was an attentive and responsive host--the place was set up nicely for our arrival, and she checked in to make sure there wasn't anything else that we needed. All in all, it was a great visit and I definitely plan to be back. Thank you!

Megan's home was a delight to stay in. While the living room area is set up for the supper club, the bedroom was very comfortable, and the backyard is a complete retreat - we spent most of our lounging time there enjoying the warm weather. A full kitchen made for lots of time cooking and enjoying meals together. Close to town with ample parking, this was a perfect launching spot for day trips to the river. Megan was great at communicating throughout the entire stay. Thanks again for a lovely stay - we would love to come again!

I loved everything about this house. It had everything we needed and was central - walking distance to everything; restaurants, bars, tasting rooms. Megan was a great host, willing to answer any questions we had. She also left us some beverages, which I thought was really sweet. I would definitely stay here again.

Megan User ProfileMegan is a superhost.

I have lived in Nevada County for 15 years and am the director of Polly's Paladar, a monthly supper club I hold in my home. I am the mother of a wonderful young lady and enjoy so many things about this special place that it only seems fitting to set up my life to share it with others. My business is inspired by the "sharing economy" and now is my home.

I enjoy gardening, hiking, traveling, yoga, eating really good food, binge watching shows online, listening to hours of podcasts, singing, making drinks, throwing parties, swimming in the Yuba, and pretty much anything with my teenage daughter.

"Life is short. Go to the concert."
