Beautiful and interesting modern house. It was a joy to be in such a unique property in such a fabulous location. Friendly hosts, excellent home-made produce for breakfast, all very good.

Response from Margaret:
Dear Mary Thank you for your kind feedback and your personal comments. We are sorry you found our closed gate unwelcoming but we try to keep it closed routinely. This is partly because we used to have ducks in the wood and didn’t want them straying and also to keep visiting livestock out of the garden. We have on two occasions had a herd of young heifers exploring our track and the odd escaped sheep and horse not to mention dogs that have parted company with their walking owners. Any of these would do a lot of damaged if they gained access to the garden. We are glad you otherwise enjoyed your visit with us even if the closed gate was initially off putting but hope as farmers, that you will be sympathetic to our reasons for keeping the gate closed.

Overall 5 star rating. Quiet, country location with fantastic views, yet only 5 miles from Exeter St David train station. Clean, modern, light family home. Private bedroom with ensuite and very comfortable double bed. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice – including homemade bread, home grown fruit and eggs from garden hens. Margaret and Phil are super hosts – they made us feel welcome and relaxed in their home. I would certainly recommend to others who have a need to be in Exeter or the surround.

Kind, thoughtful and engaging hosts who went out of their way to help us with info we needed. Very generous with their time, and with exceptional attention to detail. Building very stylish, quiet &light filled, with beautiful view &sunset. Immaculately clean &comfortable. Full of well designed touches. Stunning breakfast, very comfy bed. Bliss!

Margaret and her husband were wonderful hosts, the property is truly a unique and beautiful sanctuary that I'd thoroughly recommend. It is tranquility personified, but still close to major roads, and of course the brighter lights of Exeter if that takes your desire. You will feel refreshed and revitalised after visiting this one off property.

Beautiful house in such a fabulous setting. Although it appeared to be in the heart of the countryside, it was only 5 miles from Exeter centre so would be my choice of location every time! Everything was spotlessly clean and Margaret and Philip were very friendly. It was good to have a late night cup of tea with them when we got in from dinner.

Young in outlook, husband Philip. Love travel, keeping fit, gardening, cooking a passion. Make all own bread and preserves, grow own fruit and vegetables. Built our home 8 years ago. Enjoy meeting new people and entertaining.
