Originally built as a working studio for a well known local artist & antiques dealer, the airy space has the feel of a church with stained glass, large casement windows, gorgeous garden view, and a funky free standing claw foot tub/shower.

The space

The space is still used as a painter's lair, but was recently upgraded to rent as a luxurious one of a kind escape getaway. Located on the 2nd floor of a detached garage in Lawrenceville, it is 1 block from The Lawrenceville School and 6 miles from Princeton University. There is complete privacy and the only sounds are the birds chirping.

Guest access

Guests enter through a garden gate at the back of the property and have private access to the studio through a side door on the garage.

Interaction with guests

The artist and her husband live in the main house and are available if you need anything. But we do like our privacy, and make sure to give our guests the same. We have lived in the area for 23 years though, and are happy to share suggestions, directions, etc. There is a list of recommended restaurants, hikes, sights of interest, etc. in the studio.

Other things to note

You might see our adorable cock a poo Georgia in the back yard. Please be sure to keep the gate closed! And if you leave your door open, she might come up to visit.

We want you to enjoy and relax, but to treat the space as a special refuge. It is an extension of our home and our best guests are ones we don't even know are there. We expect quiet, cleanliness, no parties. If you smoke, please do so on the patio outside. And be mindful of the Murphy bed. It is super luxurious, was very $$, is easy to open/close, but it must be properly used.

Beautiful space in the heart of downtown Lawrenceville! My husband and I stayed for a full week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Lawrenceville is a sweet little town very close to Princeton, Hopewell borough, Pennington, and Trenton. Parking was super easy - right out front and never hard to find a spot. For business or pleasure in the area Fay's place was a great choice!

Response from Fay:
Hi Jess, Glad you enjoyed your stay and liked the studio vibe and serenity. Thank you for your candid feedback. I will be sure to pay more attention (or get a different maid!) in the future. Best regards, Fay

The place is truly unique and really comfortable. Great lighting, calming vibe, interesting decor. We were in town from the city for a wedding, so unfortunately were not able to spend much time in the space itself, nor the surroundings, so I cannot speak to the appeal of the area. A bit expensive.

Fay's space is a very cool space that is located on her property but still feels secluded. It is designed very uniquely without cluttering the one room design. There is no tv so you can definitely unwind and disconnect a bit here. (There's still wifi though so don't worry!) The multiple windows and skylights also help to make it feel like you are in nature more than you actually are. It is centrally located in that area where there is a nice Italian restaurant just a few blocks away and a few small bars in the area. You are only about a 15 min drive from New Hope and Lambertville which has a lot more outdoor activities and restaurants and cafes. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're heading to the area. Faye keeps the place up well and is great with communicating via text with still leaving you with your privacy in person. I would stay here again.

Again a wonderful and much needed relaxing stay!

Unique studio with great design. Feels like you're alone in the treetops, but then it's just a 5 minute walk to coffee and restos. Highly recommend!
