We live in the greater Toronto area and my partner runs a business. Always busy doing something and we needed time outside of the city away from tourists and people. We find cabins/cottages close to the GTA can't provide us with privacy and solitiude. We decided to do the 4 1/2 hour drive out to Griffith ON. We found exactly what we needed. This place is covered in trees and all you will hear is the trees & birds. There are two neighbours but the layout of this guys property is genius. You do not see the neighbours and you really feel like you are tucked away surrounded by the trees. This property is off the grid so to speak but the views off second deck is amazing. You can lay in the hot tub and view the lake below you. The outhouse was clean and the outdoor shower was good. I'd recommend more water pressure for the outdoor shower but it was suffice for us. What else can I add, the kitchen was great and the main bed was really comfortable. In addition, the lake is big and deep. It offers really good fishing! This property is a real gem if you aren't afraid to rough it out. It will def force you to relax and rejuvenate. I'd recommend anyone to book this over the generic cottage you typically find on Airbnb.

The place was wonderful! We stayed for 10 full days, and really felt at home. We had a lovely morning routine of getting up, going for a swim in the lake, having a soak in the hot tub, and then taking another dip in the lake. Wonderful and refreshing! There were some weeds off the dock, but not really an issue at all and the water was lovely. We had use of the canoe, and were able to do some paddling around the lake. We also really loved sitting on the decks and watching the birds at the feeder - lots of blue jays and even a hummingbird now and then! We also saw a little family of otters down at the dock one day. We brought our dog, who was in heaven! It was a very dog friendly location...although all the chipmunks got him a little over-excited at times. The outhouse was in good condition, and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots, etc. We would highly recommend this and hope to come back again!

Amazing experience. Chris greeted us upon arrival and gave us a quick run down of everything. The weather was poor so having access to a hot tub and satellite TV helped to occupy the kids. The gazebo was amazing to ward off more bug bites during the peak times. The dock access is perfect and you can swim right off the end. It's slightly weedy but not bad at all. If you book here you'll have great communication and an overall great time.

Ryan was a fantastic host, keeping communication lines always open and answering all questions, big or small, in a timely manner. The cottage itself was fantastic in a great location. We spent a ton of time on the two kayaks and canoe just exploring the river. The gazebo provided great shelter when it rained and were able to play boardgames without any of the rain getting in. The community itself was also pleasant, with a general store only 5-10 minutes away. Overall, I would definitely return!
