Me and my teenage daughter were in Carla’s apartment the first week of October. The size of the apt is perfect for two (max 3). One bedroom (one queen size bed - VERY comfortable), enough storage place, one living room with a comfy sofa, two TV’s. A very small kitchen with a coffee machine (you can buy that kind of capsules „Keurig“ at the corner). We did not cook - just for coffee and tea the kitchen was great - even a toaster for our continental breakfast. Small bathroom with a shower in a bathtub: there was always hot water and a good water pressure. There is now also a good and strong hair dryer (see older review comment from others)!
The situation of the apt is just perfect: half block from the 50th subway station which gets you to and fro JFK (Subway plus air train), 5 mins Times Square, 5 mins Hells Kitchen with nice restaurants (9th Ave), or for 12 $ you take a taxi downtown to the Piers for dinner. Port Authority is also walkable. The "Visitors Center" sells tickets for tourist busses or the bus to Woodbury is 1 min away (you can also store your luggage there (the apt is available as of 7 PM). It couldn’t be better. The house is very quiet. The bedroom goes into the backyard, which is quiet except the ventilator buzzing of the nearby hotel - but that’s a normal NYC sound. The living room has nearly no day light (the only negative point of this apt.), there is one window that goes into a light funnel, hence you need to turn on all the lights and lamps provided. For us this wasn’t so important, as we were ‚on the road‘ the whole day. Strong Wi-Fi, perfect for the whole day planning, online checking etc. Communication: GREAT: Carla is reacting within minutes/one hour. Her son Marco checked us in, very easy, nice, friendly guy, very reliable. Briefly: We had a little home, where we felt comfy and safe.
