Situated on the edge of the forest located in the Wedgwood Retreat grounds and gardens, our vacation rental cabin makes a perfect holiday getaway - private, beautiful and unique. The spacious cabin features a lofty cathedral ceiling accented with cedar timbers, and shining wood highlights throughout. The airy loft bedroom has a queen bed and a claw-foot tub, with lots of windows to catch the cool night breezes and pure mountain air. The living room has a double futon bed.
Wedgwood Retreat is a gorgeous grand English Country Estate built in 1910 by Commander Harrison and his wife Lady Caroline Wedgwood. It has been lovingly restored over the years keeping most of the original architectural features while enhancing it for today's comforts and building codes. In 2001 the chalet was built using locally harvested timber. The chalet has been designed to compliment the original estate.
Crawford Creek Road is a paved road off of highway 3A (400 mts from the crossing). Once you get to the manor there's a big sign on the road entrance and it turns into a gravel road inside the property. It is only 100 mts to the parking area on the north side of the Manor.
Guests have access to all the grounds and most of the Manor common facilities (except kitchen area and our private quarters). There's also a beautiful short hike to an amazing view point where you can take in the beauty of Crawford Bay and the town.
Other things to note
Our neighbors have dogs that are all friendly and might wander around the property.
There's no smoking anywhere in the property (Cabin, Manor or grounds).
It is recommended that children be over 5 years of age as there are ponds in the property which are not fenced.
Quiet times are between 10pm and 7am.
Although we are busy during breakfast time, we are generally available most of the time if guests would like to know more about the history of the Retreat, the area or simply chat.
Originally from Costa Rica, my wife Pilar and I arrived in beautiful British Columbia in 2014 and fell in love with the province. We are outdoor enthusiasts, who work in the world of high tech and decided to call the Kooteneys are home. We would be pleased to welcome you to our home.
