The space

Bunge is a typically mid 20th Century military style place.
All basic facilities are located around a unique hangar (also housing all types of Swedish Air Force fighters).
The environment is more or less a museum at the very best private airport at the Island of Gotland. The closest neighbour is an outdoor museum showing life of Swedish countryside three centuries back.
Restaurant/coffe/breakfast within five minutes walking distance.
Two more restaurants within 2 km radius. A free road ferry leads to the neighbouring Island Fårö - an island home for the
Swedish film director Ingmar Bergman.
The famus "Blue Lagoon" is located 10 km away.

This is the coolest place I've ever stayed. Inger is awesome awesome awesome. The bed and blanket were so comfortable I had a hard time getting up in the morning:/ Location is a short walk from the #20 bus stop, adjacent to an open air museum, and a km or 2 away from the Fårö ferry and an ICA grocery store (an easy bike ride).

Fantastic location ! Inger is a very nice host, who made us feel welcome. We arrived at 4 o'clock in the morning, and she was waiting for us. She gave us tips to visit the island and she even made sure that there was a small breakfast for us. The location was very special with all the Swedisch old airplanes. You can walk around without any problems. I recommand it.

Highly recommended. Wonderful stay at Ingers place. She was very kind and accommodating. It was a unique experience to stay among the historical places and it was in the perfect location in Gotland. Close to beautiful nature and very quiet.

Have you ever slept in museum? I did for the first time and I have to say: it was unforgettable. My and my boyfriend we came in the very beginning of the season and we're the only one in the whole hangar, got the best room with the private bathroom. The room was perfectly equipped so we had everything we needed+super comfortable bed and museum atmosphere. Inger was incredible kind to us and even left us some small breakfast in the fridge.. we were spending my birthday that day and organized some small birthday dinner with wine right in the hangar among all the airplanes. I can not compare this feeling to anything else I had before.. but it's all just dry details while I wanted to say about something else, which is much more important, I want to say that there is something very special about this place, about its owner and about the way she welcomed us, it was better than anything I could imagine. This place thanks to Inger has a soul and you feel it from the very first moment. I cant even say that it was BnB, it was a home for us for one night and I wish I will have a chance to come back. It is definitely the best experience and the best Airbnb

It was a very interesting stay at Bunge air base museum, especially for people who loves air planes. We spent 2 nights at Bunge and it was a special experience. We arrived late at around 8pm and it was a little confusing as the place was rather big. There were some other German guests at the air base and they gladly helped to get Inger for us. The rest of the stay was fine thereafter. We had our own room with private bath and amenities in the room is quite new and sufficient. The common kitchen is shared with other guests at the air base and it can be crowded sometimes. We just have to get around it by having our meals at early hours so there is no problem with that. The air base itself is the real highlight as we get to look at some military aircrafts and even to sit in some of them! Having travelled to Sweden several times, this is the first time that we get to interact with so many locals and foreign guests. Inger will drop by once awhile to check that everything is fine. We get to meet some of her family members who are equally friendly, especially her eldest granddaughter who introduced Pokemon Go to us! It is a pleasant stay and we will definitely stay here again for our next visit to Gotland.

It was one of the most unique and exciting place to stay that i have ever been. Moreover, the host, Inger, is the best. She is extremely kind and helpful. The place is also close to various activities. If the weather allows, you can explore to the beach and Fårö by bike. Unlikely to the capital, here is quiet.

My family and I had a wonderful - and unforgettable! - stay at Inger's place in Bunge. Previous comments may give the wrong impression about a few things, I hope I can clarify. A few of the pictures and the title "hangar living in military style" give the impression that the accommodations are spartan, but the furnishings in the rooms are actually new and modern (Ikea mid-range) and very comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms are separate from the rooms- you cross the airplane hanger floor to get to them. The rooms are perfectly quiet, too, even during the rare times that an airplane is moving around.
