Lovely traditional Cornish cottage modernised throughout set in a quiet village , close to the costal path leading to the beautiful beach of Trebarwith Strand. This beach is perfect for families and popular with surfers.
There are two pubs within walking distance offering good food and a variety of Cornish beers.Treknow is also close to the magical town of Tintagel and beautiful coastal walks. The cottage is in an ideal location to explore the beauty of the Cornish countryside.

The space

The cottage is an ideal holiday location for families and couples but may not be suitable for those with limited mobility as some walking is required. The cottage was built before the day of the car which adds to its charm and peaceful location.Parking is sometimes difficult in the small village and the lanes are narrow.I do have the use of a small garage, suitable for one car.If you do have difficulty parking spaces are always available near the Atlantic Hotel, with only a short walk down to the cottage.
There are two sitting rooms, one lending itself for a space for the family to watch TV or play games, the other a quiet room for reading etc. The second room can serve as an additional bedroom and has a sofa which converts into a double bed.
An assortment of DVDs, books and games are available.
There is central heating and the windows are double glazed. There are two wood burners , one in the sitting room, the other in the dining area.
A kitchen is always the hub of the cottage and has all the equipment necessary for cooking meals. There is a large fridge and freezer and a microwave for quick convenient meals. There is an adjoining dining area which sits 6 people.
There are two bedrooms with comfortable double beds, chest of drawers, wardrobes, bedside tables and bedside lights. There is single bedroom again with a bedside table, light and a chest of drawers.
The bathroom has a freestanding bath with a shower over the bath, a loo, washbasin and plenty of storage space.
The garden is three tiered and has a large shed which stores garden furniture and a barbecue for guests use.
I have all the essentials but do not provide towels.
My cousin lives close by and is available to help with any problems or queries.

Guest access

The whole cottage with its garden is available for guests save for the upstairs study .Please supervise your children in the garden.
There is a private garage for the guests use, room for one car.

Interaction with guests

I am always available if any problems occur .I have a contact in the village who will meet guests upon arrival and will there at checkout.

Other things to note

Rubbish collection is on Tuesday ,please put bags with household rubbish in the lay-by on the right hand side as you walk up from cottage. There are various recycling bags in the shed for paper, plastics etc. Please could you sort your rubbish out accordingly. These recycling bags are collected fort nightly and should also be placed in the lay-by for collection.
Please take any rubbish with you left at the end of your stay to avoid scavenging by animals.

The most important thing is that we had a wonderful 4 nights and the cottage is quintessential and in a lovely location. We enjoyed access to the southwest coastal path and walked to Tintagel on our first day! We also enjoyed the Trebarwith Strand beach and the lovely hillside pub. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped with a fantastic washer too! Our children also loved the board games, such a nice touch! There were just a few things to mention for anyone considering staying here, the garage was not accessible by our larger vehicle and I think only a small vehicle would fit comfortably. Thus we were required to find a parking spot in the village and the spots were a good distance walk uphill from the cottage. Additionally, I have sensitive allergies and there was a strong damp smell that required me to take an antihistamine. I think this is just due to the age of the cottage and the downhill location. The cottage is very nicely done and modern. Although the lack of an overhead shower was an annoyance after the first day of being on beach and trying to get clean. But no matter, we managed and really enjoyed our time! Thank you to Judith and Edwina!

Response from Judith:
I am very glad you had a good holiday. However I am disappointed that you did not raise your two issues to me previously. As you know I am proactive in resolving any problems.Surely it would be sensible and courteous to raise these with me first without mentioning it in a public review.I have amended my description to reflect that the garage is not suitable for a large car.The restrictive parking is well reflected Also I will provide a dehumidifier for anyone who is ultra sensitive and has allergies. I visit the property regularly and it is constantly checked by Edwina and no strong damp smell has been detected. Your messages to me previously included "We love your cottage and have had an amazing first day" and "Thank you for sharing your lovely home ."So your comments in your review came as a complete surprise.

Lovely little cottage in a charming village. Was perfect size for two small families. Kitchen is well equipped. Was great in the summer. A short walk down a steepish trail to a great beach, although the beach is only really there at low tide, at high tide it's just rocks, but you can get Cornish pasties, Cornish ice cream and cream teas to fill your time waiting for the sea to recede. Great location for visiting the amazing Tintagel castle and beautiful Boscastle.

A pretty cottage in a peaceful setting, overlooking a field of sheep. We woke up to views of new lambs basking in the sun. The house is well equipped, a spacious bathroom, lovely big bath (no stand up shower), two decent sized double bedrooms and one decent sized single bedroom. Kitchen / dining area is great - clean and enough space for a couple of cooks plus kids. The children liked playing the board games too. It's in a fabulous location to enjoy the south west coastal path. Within 10 mins we found some spectacular coastal views as we started our picturesque walk to Tintagel. You can also easily walk to the beautiful beach of Trebarwith Strand (15 mins with kids).

The cottage is one of the nicest I have stayed in for many reasons. Primarily for the location and the quality. Plus we had a great time! Thanks Judith and Edwina!

This is a beautiful cottage located in an unspoilt and secluded area of North Cornwall, yet also falling within easy reach of larger coastal towns by car. The cottage is a stone's throw from some fantastic coastal walking as well as Trebarwith Strand with its spectacular views which you can enjoy whilst having a beverage at The Port William (public house). The Mill House (public house at the bottom of the hill) does good deals on food on Wednesdays and Thursdays but, if you prefer nights in, the cottage includes a well-equipped kitchen and a log burner in the larger sitting room. The bedrooms and bathroom are light, spacious and airy. As well as providing useful information about parking and directions, our host had also included personal touches which made the cottage seem like home from home.
