**** THE APARTMENT ****
This is a very clean 3 bedroom flat with 2 bathrooms, in a 24-hour doorman building right beside the metro station.
The building is historic, projected in the 1950s by the famous brazilian architect Sergio Bernardes, in the elegant and rationalist style of modernism then dominant in Rio. It stays on a charming and quiet tree-lined street, only one block from Praça General Osorio, famous for the hippie fair on sundays, and for carnival parades such as Banda de Ipanema.
Equiped eat-in kitchen for shared use, with a 4-seater table and washing machine. You will find lovely cafes for breakfast very close by.
The living room, with floor to ceiling windows facing south, is bright, with TV and DVD facilities, and plenty of brazilian music videos and CDs for you to enjoy when I'm not giving classes or working on musical arrangements.
Clean towels are provided for each guest.
**** YOUR BEDROOM ****
You're renting a good-sized bedroom. It has a comfy sofa bed with clean linen, well furnished, with a blackout curtain and ceiling fan It's bright, cosy and fairly quiet, with a nice street view. Wi-Fi (10 mbps) access is provided.
It's comfortable for up to two persons, and an extra mattress is available if you come with someone else.
The private bathroom is also small, but functional and clean. Hot shower is available.
You'll have your own keys to the apartment.
**** NOTES ****
. If you need room for more people, I also have a double bedroom with a king size bed available to offer, check in my profile!

Other things to note
**** MUSIC TIPS ****
Interested on brazilian music? Take a 2 block walk to Toca do Vinícius, a famous CD and DVD store dedicated to Vinícius de Moraes, one of the great Bossa Nova songwriters. You'll find a huge vintage selection of Bossa Nova vinyl LPs and CDs, songbooks, books and a small museum on the second floor. There's live music outside on the sidewalk one sunday a month.
Go check Bip Bip, a small storefront bar in Copacabana near Arpoador where well known local musicians drop by for informal jam sessions. By a beer and listen to good quality Bossa Nova, Samba or Choro for free all week long.

I'm brazilian, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, a "carioca" from Ipanema.
Friends, music, nature and traveling are on top of my "can't live without it" list.
I work with music, doing a mix of teaching, playing, writing arrangements, coaching singers and actors.
Hosting is a way to travel while staying home, to make new interesting friends, and to give my vision of life a refresh from time to time.
I'm fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish and can communicate in French, although still not very fast..
