The space

My apartment consists a living room plus a bedroom. Also, there is some space outside which belongs to my apartment. Kitchen is embedded in living room. The place has wooden ceiling and ground. The bathroom is not really large, yet it's functional enough.

I have a comfortable sofa which serves as a twin bed. Depending on my presence I can provide the bedroom (has another twin bed) as well, which makes the place for up to four people. There is one inflatable bed for one person. I can also provide a mattress and sleeping bag for extra people.

Towels and linens are provided. 7/24 hot water is available. Iron, stove, small oven, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, espresso machine, washing machine and drying rack are included.

The place is really close to Ortaköy Square (where a lot of tourists are all around) as well as the seaside. There are Bosphorus Boat Trips leaving from Ortaköy.
It is on a small street which is around 150 meters away from the main road, therefore not really noisy. There are a lot of restaurants, bars, pubs and souvenir shops within a 4-5 minutes walk. The grocery stores and supermarkets are also available within 2-3 minutes walk.

Ortaköy is 15-20 minutes far from Beşiktaş (on foot), and 5 km. from Taksim Square. Public transportation is pretty functional for reaching different parts of the city.

There is full access to kitchen which is fully equipped. Wi-fi is available and for hot days there is an air-conditioner too.

Turkish coffee and tea, as well as good quality fair-trade coffee will be served by myself during your stay.

Welcome!

Eren was a very nice host : he was waiting for us when we arrived and he lent us mobile phone and istanbulcard for transports. Warm welcome guaranteed. The flat was clean and cosy. It is in a quiet little street. The area is like a village : we enjoyed walking in Ortakoy and it's the best place to get to know the turkish way of life. No tourists there. Then, it's a good place to stay in Istanbul.

It was a pleasure to live in Eren's flat for a week. The location is very good : 5 minutes to Ortakoy's mosque, 10 minutes to Galatasaray's university. His friend Betul give me a very good reception for my arrival. Eren is helpful and friendly : he lend me a turquish mobile phone and a key for the bus. Don't hesitate to go there !!

We had a great short little stay at Eren's place. We did have a little hiccup getting the key to his place as he was gone on holiday when we arrived. However it was not a game changer, things worked out just fine. After we got the key we made our way from Taksim to his place via walking. My friend and I enjoy walking all over the place so it was not a big deal but it is not a method I would suggest as it takes about 2 hours to walk, depending on route and speed of walking (we enjoyed our walk as we got to see the sites but others may not find it fun walking long distance with luggage). Once we made it the place was well made up for our arrival. As mentioned, Eren was gone on holiday but he stayed very near the internet so he could answer any of our questions. Eren was very good about communication from start to finish, providing us with any and all information that we needed. A cell phone was left for our personal use but we bought our own sim card. Being a light sleeper I take ear plugs and a mask everywhere I go and noise wise Eren's place was not an issue but his bedroom does have a street light that shine's into his room. So if that is an issue for you task a sleep mask. Besides my own personal sleeping issues and the key hiccup I cannot say anything bad about Eren or his place. He was a very good host even though he was gone so I can only imagine how much of a great host he would have been if he was there.

We really enjoyed our time at Erens place as flat share. It was a good experience to get to know Istanbul with help of such a nice host showing us how to take the right busses and where to enjoy good food - espacially yummi breakfast :) Since we needed a bit of time to get used to the noise and spirit of Istanbul, it was nice to get home to this comfy place and enjoy some beers or whiskey combined with smooth music. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality! Hope to see you around some time! Rock on :)

My wife and I had our best experience in Istanbul, not only for the wonderful city but also thanks to our amazing host Eren. Eren’s place is comfortable, clean, extremely well located and on top of that it has such an amazing friendly atmosphere. The flat is located right in Ortakoy, very close to the Ortakoy port and to the Bosphorus Bridge. The neighbourhood offers plenty of facilities including easy public transport and local food. There is bus D30 that goes directly to Galata bridge in 30 mins (upon the traffic) and there is bus T2 that goes directly to Taksim square in 20 minutes or less (upon traffic). As Eren was very busy that week at work, we were upgraded to his room ! Although the coach, that transforms itself in a double bed, was extremely comfortable too. We arrived on Monday to Eren’s house. He very kindly picked us up at Taksim square. Once we arrived to his place, he provided us with a sort of token that would allows to top up and use the public transport, and with a mobile phone in case we needed anything from him. He also showed us the neighborhood and explained us the best way to reach the touristic places where we wanted to go. Some evenings (we stayed for 6 days at Eren's place) we had very nice conversations about history, music and of course Istanbul accompanied of very good local beer. During all our stay he was friendly and very helpful... he also taught us how to make a proper Turkish (URL HIDDEN) was so cool that we ended up buying a Turkish tea maker from a shop close to Eren’s house. The last day in Istanbul (which was Saturday) he invited us to join him and his friend for a traditional Turkish breakfast ( Tip: he cooks this type of breakfast every Saturday for his friends so you might be lucky enough to be invited for such a delicious breakfast). Later in the afternoon his friend took us around hidden places of central Istanbul including a famous local place to drink proper Turkish coffee (a gem in the crown!). Later that evening Eren and his friend took us to the Asian side where we had traditional dinner and drank Raki. We ended up the night in Eren’s favorite blues bar in Istanbul. That last night was amazing they made us feel as if we were at home! We definitely recommend Eren’s place to any one that would like to have a great experience while visiting Istanbul! Thank you Eren for all your hospitality and help, and for being an amazing host 10/10!!!

Good monring! What I could say is in generally: all things works fine :=) Eren ist very helpful and friendly host. Communication and check in was fast and well organized. The place of the flat is good connected by bus - later with the Tram (up Katabas - T1) to the city and the ferries. There are many markets and shops around and restaurants too. The flat is clean and really comfy and fine furnished with all what you need. The room is in the right size and the bed is large enough and convenient. So finally I would strong recommand Eren with his flat All the best Frank

Eren is a fantastic host. He was verry wellcomeing and gave us a lot of advices during our stay.We were staying on his comfy couch which has the size of a douple bed and had a good time with him going out for dinner ( he showed us a very specific restaurant at the asian side of Istanbul which offered traditional dishes ) or having a drink and a chat in his livingroom. Eren also helped us to make our stay as easy as possible by offering us a mobile phone with his number so that we could ask him any time we got stuck and gave us one of those public transport passes. He will move into another flat in a while so you possibly wont have the chance to listen to his neighbor who is musican. We are sure that this wont change his nice way to host people. Regards Paul & Theresa
