The Priory was a really great experience. We arrived quite late. Kam was very flexible and waited for us. She was very welcoming and suggested we eat in the nearby Barley Mow, which was an absolutely lovely pub meal. As far as the accommodation goes, we had read reviews and knew that The Priory was an old and "well-loved" property. There wasn't much in the way of bathing facilities, the bathrooms were rustic, but the house itself was gorgeous. The only real complaint was that our bed linens weren't cotton so that we had a very sweaty and hot sleep and my husband found that a little uncomfortable. Our daughter, who was meant to sleep on a mattress on the floor of our room was offered her own bedroom which was very much appreciated. We thought that was very accommodating of Kam and we thank her for that. All in all, we would recommend The Priory, for a proper English country experience. Kam was lovely and very welcoming.

We were warmly welcomed and shown round the beautiful house. Our hosts were lovely. It is worth noting for families that there is a communal bathroom shared with around 6 other guests, the bathroom has no shower and unfortunately was not clean, we were advised to share a bath as the supply of hot water is limited. We were given a key to the house but our hosts were frequently arriving and departing and do not lock the door themselves, so we did not use it. Also it was not possible to lock or even fully to close the door to our room so you would be best advised to lock valuables in your car. The beautiful kitchen is available for the use of guests. Cooked breakfast is not included for the price so that is worth bearing in mind. We were advised of this after we had booked. Milk and bread were provided and there was tea and (instant) coffee on hand. I had my three year old with me so took him to play in the garden. Do be careful if you do the same as the grounds are overgrown with nettles. The house is under renovation so there are many places you cannot go such as the top floor and outbuildings so constant supervison of children is required. Our hosts were very accommodating, friendly and allowed us to use the oven in the kitchen to cook our dinner. For the price of the room however I would expect breakfast to be included, a secure room and either a clean bathroom or at least the means with which to clean it myself.

The Priory is in a beautiful location and is a stunning old property, though still toasty and warm. Paige was such a generous person and couldn't do enough to make me feel welcome. It turned out I needed to work from their house, and Paige found me an office with monitors, desk, keyboard mouse, internet and printers where I could base for the day! On showing up, Jonathan gave me a tour of the house, which I could have enjoyed for much longer as the house is so interesting. Paige was always on hand, and I'm glad to have chosen breakfast in the morning. It was with a lovely Australian couple who were also staying, was in a beautiful dining room, and Paige came in regularly to offer more tea (or food). Made me feel like the Lord of the Manor! Thanks Paige and Jonathan.
