Our family of six enjoyed the spaciousness of the Butternut cabin and the peace and quiet of the area. We loved being permitted to bring our fur babies along... at no extra cost. The cabins are rustic and outdated, but fine for camping in comfort! The kitchen had everything we needed... and there was even a TV with DVD and VHS player (and dozens of videos). I liked all the natural light and views of the woods. We looked past the old, brown carpeting and dark paneled walls. Our college-aged sons shared a room with twin beds, while our adult daughters shared a second bedroom... with one twin and one full bed. The master bedroom had a soft queen bed and each room had a floorfan, to help circulate the air. We all slept very well! We all loved having two full bathrooms... one on each floor! The campgrounds are very secluded and under construction, so we found very little nearby to do... which is fine if you enjoy family togetherness like we so. We bought games and puzzles for entertainment (no intenet/wifi!) We really liked the local Mennonite people and we visited the famous Indian Serpent Mound and museum nearby. It was a great trip!

When we arrived we could not find our Chalet because they had the road to it blocked off. We had to go find someone to let us in which wasn't easy. The chalets are run down and badly in need of repair and updating. The ground were not kept up. Weeds were growing up through the steps going into the chalets. Could be nice if someone would take care of it.

Our family was extremely happy with the experience. It is located in a campground that is being renovated. This worked well for us but if someone was looking for a house-like setting they may be disappointed. It was rustic. I hope we get an opportunity to come back when the campground and the pool are renovated and operational. There is great potential at this site!
