About this listing

This cosy studio apartment is situated on the third floor of an ancient Florentine building, Palazzo Borghese, the home of Pauline Bonaparte, sister of Napoleon, married to Prince Camillo Borghese. The apartment overlooks a bright internal courtyard, it is a quiet retreat, although the location is very central, minutes away from all monuments and museums, ideally situated for shopping, bars and trattorias.

The space

This is a studio apartment, a large room with a kitchenette in a corner, a table with chairs, a comfortable king-size bed and plenty of storage room. The window overlooks a bright internal courtyard. There is a new bathroom with shower and a washing machine. The studio apartment is located on the third floor of Palazzo Borghese, the ancient home of Pauline Bonaparte (sister of Napoleon) and Prince Camillo Borghese, her husband. The first floor of the palazzo hosts her original apartment with her many ballrooms and boudoirs. It is open to the public and is well worth a visit.
The palazzo is a quiet residential building, located in the very centre of Florence. Adiacent streets are full of trattorias, bars, boutiques and shops of all kind, but Via Pandolfini is still a very quiet street. Piazza del Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, Santa Croce are only minutes away and every monument in Florence is within walking distance from the apartment.

Guest access

The apartment is at the disposal of guests and has its own private entrance. You can access it through a communal area (stairs and corridor) which are shared among other residents. There is a lift up to the third floor.

Interaction with guests

The owner lives on the same floor of the Palazzo and is available if needed, always happy to help or give advice.

Other things to note

Just a couple of doors down Via Pandolfini, in the same Palazzo, there is a public garage, Garage del Bargello. This is one of the few public garages in the centre of Florence. Guests arriving by car will be able to park there (ask for details of rates which depend on size of vehicle and length of stay) thereby gaining access to the Zona a Traffico Limitato (ZTL) in the centre of Florence.

Elena's studio is perfectly equipped; it is centrally located but still very quiet. The building is historic. Elena herself could not be more delightful or generous. We will definitely return should we be fortunate enough to find ourselves in Florence again soon.

You cannot hope for a better host than Elena. She was very helpful with everthing. She informed us of the best restaurants and bars nearby with a map of the surroundings. As an example we arrived later than we agreed upon and that was no problem. We lost our luggage st the airport and she provided a toothbrust. So all in all very helpful and pleasant stay. And the bed is as big as in the pictures.

Great stay! Cafe downstairs was a plus. Location was a little further than the tourist attractions than expected but it was quiet and nice at night and the metro is very easy to use.

My wife and I stayed in this apartment for four nights and it was perfect. It is centrally located in Florence which allowed walking to all of the main tourist attractions. Elena was incredibly helpful during check-in, she provided us with a map and recommendations about restaurants, supermarkets, and bars. Additionally, she printed out museum tickets for us and delivered them promptly. She was always very accessible via text messaging. The apartment itself was nice and cozy for two. Elena provided a couple bottles of water and juice, plenty of coffee, and a bowl of fruit. My wife very much enjoyed sitting out on the windowsill and smelling all the wonderful smells of Florence that would rise up from other apartments. I highly recommend a stay here.

Elena was a great host, she did everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable. She even marked out great places to see and eat at in the neighbourhood. She also gave us great insight into Florence and Pisa. The apartment/building itself is exceptionally central and has a great history.
