This is such an incredible house - we didn't want to leave! The view is absolutely stunning, and the set up/design of the house is perfect for hanging out with friends, having drinks on the porch, or heading to the beach (there was ample beach gear to use, which we really appreciated). Richard was so helpful and accommodating - it really felt like home. We were there during a hot week, and with no A/C the back bedrooms did warm up during the day, but luckily everything cools down at night. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This place made our vacation. It was the perfect spot to rest after exploring the island. Great and plenty of amenities. Richard is an awesome communicator and very helpful with all kinds of suggestions. We will definitely come back.

Richard's place is an excellent choice from which to explore the Kohala Coast. Check in was easy and Richard was very accommodating. The house has a great kitchen and the lanai is fabulous. We really enjoyed our stay.

Far exceeded my expectations! The photos do not do justice to the home. The location is perfect for beach access and a little bit of seclusion. Richard was a great host, providing clear directions to the home and instructions on check-in and out. If I ever return to Hawaii, I will definitely stay here again.

This is a beautiful and well cared for home. It had everything we needed in terms of kitchen, sleeping, and recreational items, and everything was well kept and in good shape. The view of the ocean is exceptional, and the back porch is very pleasant even in the middle of a hot day. It felt quiet and secluded, and yet it was close to beaches and basic necessities. I'd love to return some day.

The pictures of Richard's home do not do it justice. The house was spotless, the bedrooms very comfortable, and the kitchen, dining room, and living room are spacious. Note there is no air conditioning; however, with the coastal air flowing through both sliding glass screens and ceiling fans in each room, it's cool and comfortable. The deck overlooking the backyard was our favorite spot. In the mornings, brew your coffee/tea in the morning and watch the yard come to life with birds, turkeys, and other wild life, and in the evenings reminisce about the day's activities as you watch the sun go down. Aloha Hale is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in the Kohala area north of most of the major resorts on the Kona side of the island (10 minutes north of the Hapuna Prince Beach resort and 15 minutes south of Hawi) which was perfect for us. Richard provided personal amenities such as beach towels, binoculars, and local guides. Local restaurants offer good food at reasonable prices. Notable eateries: the Seafood Bar and Grill (5 minutes south of Aloha Hale serving more than just seafood) and the Red Water Cafe in Waimea (20+ minutes inland). On our last day we ventured north to quaint Hawi for breakfast at the King's View Cafe, a great little eatery across from King K's childhood home which we whole heartedly recommend. We had a wonderful stay at Richard's place!

Stunning view, very well equipped home, great BBQ opportunity, and close to Waimea which is a foodie hotspot. Highly recommended!
