My accommodation is good for couples and families with children. The "Dichtl-Hof" is a listed former farm with character, has recently been completely refurbished, but has age-related features. The adjacent barn is rented for residential purposes. You should like peace and be happy in the countryside and in nature; Excursions in the area are recommended. And if all this becomes too quiet for you, Munich is not far away. You should bring a car.

The space

My accommodation is good for couples and families with children. The "Dichtl-Hof" is a listed former farm with character, has recently been completely refurbished, but has age-related features. The adjacent barn is permanently rented for residential purposes. The garden is large, but to use by both parties to find an undisturbed place is no problem. The Dichtl Hof stands directly on the edge of the Mangfall Valley; From there you have a nice view into the Mangfall valley. The edge is planted with bushes, but it is advisable to have an eye on small children. You should like peace and be happy in the countryside and in nature; Excursions in the area are recommended. And if all this becomes too quiet for you, Munich (36 km) is not far away. You should bring a car with you.

Other things to note

If you are looking for a place in the countryside, but with easy access to the sights of Bavaria, Oliver's place is a great option. We selected this place while visiting Munich for Oktoberfest. We did not want to actually stay in Munich with its huge mark up for the festival, but wanted easy access for the days we ventured into the city. You will definitely need a car to stay at Oliver's, but super easy to park and take the public transport into Munich. We had plans to visit other areas of Bavaria while here (Herrenchiemsee, Oberammagau, Berchtesgaten, etc.) so like being a bit out of Munich to give us a head start on these day trips. The house was situated in an ideal spot on the edge of a ravine, with great views all around. Treated to wonderful sunrises and sunsets on some of the mornings. We loved walking around the small village, and down to the river, checking out a unique stone sculpture garden set up along the river's edge. As listed, the house is a renovated farm house, and does have some age related features, mostly found on the middle floor (2nd floor for USA, 1st floor for Europe). The floor is very uneven on the middle floor, and some of the bedrooms on this floor are really not suited for adult couples (or even adult singles). There is a nice and comfortable double bed in one of the rooms on the middle floor that works nicely for a couple. Another disadvantage that we did not understand when booking the place was that there is NO bathroom on the middle floor - only a bathroom on the main floor and an en suite on the top floor. So those staying on the middle floor will generally have to go down to the main (ground) floor through the living/dining room, the family room, and the kitchen to access a bathroom. The top floor - master bedroom and bath is a huge space, but the platform bed does take a bit to get use to. Also never figured out how to use the steam shower in the master bath, no instructions provided on that, but the shower itself worked fine. The issues list above were minor compared to the positives of the place. Lovely main floor and well stocked kitchen. Beautiful outdoor space and grounds. Wifi worked great. Oliver was always available to answer questions and give us recommendations on things to do in the local area, places to shop, and transportation options into Munich. If you are looking for a farmhouse experience within 30 minutes of Munich, this is a great choice.

Oliver is a fantastic host and his listing is absolutely ideal for a family holiday. The house itself is beautiful, even larger than the photographs suggest and has clearly been shown great care by Oliver. The area is gorgeous and is not far at all from the bustling city or the delightful lakes and mountains. I would recommend this listing to anyone!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Oliver's house. The house is exceptionally clean. The kitchen is the best stocked out of all airbnb kitchens I have seen. Oliver is very friendly and accommodating in terms of check-in and check-out times. The location is perfect for visiting both Munich and Salzburg. We also took our 5 year old to BergTierPark Blindham, which is 15 minutes away by car. Highly recommended if you have children under 10! A short word of warning - the house is located on a very high river shore. There are bushes planted at the ridge and it should not be a problem unless you have an overactive and not very cautious child.

This is a wonderful old Bavarian farmhouse, beautifully restored. Many old farmhouses can be dark but this house is full of light - you won't feel hemmed in on rainy days. There's plenty of space, rooms you can sit quietly in and rooms you can all fit into without having 6 on a sofa. The mix of contemporary and old work perfectly, and the house has a homely feel without clutter. There are big showers that work well, and a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher that all make life easier. The house has a lovely garden with plenty of places to sit. The river runs in the base of the valley, near enough to hear, and a good place to walk - worth walking to the next village and stopping for lunch opposite the Graf Arco brewery before walking back on the opposite bank of the river. The location is ideal for either getting into Munich or going to the mountains or one of the many lakes around. Several supermarkets are about 20 mins away. Oliver is a friendly host, and was very helpful. We will definitely return.

We loved our stay. The house was clean, well equipped and comfortable. It is quiet and secluded with absolutely beautiful scenery. We were able to do many day trips from here, exploring Bavaria and Austria. We traveled with 4 children, one under 2. We were so impressed by the baby accessories available in the house: crib, high chair, toys, changing pad, even soap and toys for the baby bath! We have stayed in many Airbnb's throughout Europe, and this was by far the best in terms of a family stay with children and a baby. Oliver took time to help us plan our trips by explaining the best methods of public transportation and telling us about restaurants and small towns in the area for days when we didn't want to do big day trips. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Very much enjoyed our stay in this rural and large family house. It's a great combination of original farmhouse features with a modern luxury bathroom and kitchen. Oliver is a first class host and was immediately available when we needed his help. Recommended. We enjoyed travelling to Munich (from the local train station) Salzburg and the glacier at Hintertux which were both 1.5 hours easy car journey.

Beautiful renovated Bavarian country home, which is full of character with modern amenities. Perfect for families, especially as Oliver prepared a cot and baby high chair, and there were lots of toys already for little ones to play with. Great indoor hot tub, showers and heating. Scenery is serene and blissfully quiet, although is car is a must have. Oliver was a brilliant host, helping us to buy food on Saturday before supermarkets closed, to ensure we had enough on Sunday (all shops are shut on Sundays!). Very timely and good communication before and during our stay. Highly recommended!
