"Casita de Laurita" is close to everything in town, and only two blocks from I-10, with easy exits on and off. 10 minutes to the Airport, UTEP, Downtown, Fort Bliss, and the Texas Tech Medical School. This house is a converted corner store (Mercadito), and there's nothing else like it in El Paso. The Casita is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets), with a large fenced yard and shade all day for them.

The space

Part of a historic district, the house is just a few minutes walk from the grave of notorious gunfighter John Wesley Hardin. If you want a true El Paso experience, there is no better place to soak in the culture, find some amazing border cuisine, and see what authentic El Paso is like. Popular tourist attractions like the Wyler Aerial Tramway, Concordia Cemetary (with ghost tours), the El Paso Zoo, the Plaza Classic Theater and the The Bridge of the Americas (site of numerous films and TV shows, most recently Sicario and The Bridge) are only minutes away..

Dave and Laura were great hosts! They were very responsive with any questions we had and left a nice welcome note on the chalkboard. The casita is very cute on the inside and was the perfect size for the two of us and our dog. It seemed to be located close to a variety of restaurants (check out their book of recommendations!) and also wasn't a far drive from the state park, so the location was perfect for us. Our only complaint was a little bit of a bug problem, mainly with ants, but it wasn't bad enough to deter us from visiting again. Overall, we would recommend the casita if you are traveling to El Paso!

Dave and Laura's place is so unique! While it is a smaller house, it was perfect for a weekend trip. At one point, we locked ourselves out of the house and Dave came and let us in at 3am! They are understanding hosts and extemely helpful. Definitely would stay here again .

Dave and Laura's place is very nice and we would stay again. What it lacks in curb appeal it more than makes up for in charm and comfort on the inside. The bed is super comfortable and the shabby chic decor is fun and inviting. Our son really enjoyed the chalkboard wall and tub of toys, and the little fire pit out front was a nice place to relax after the kids had gone to bed. Close to grocery store and anything you would need around town. Dave and Laura also leave a personal book of recommendations around El Paso which is really cool. One downside is there is no wifi but we got along without it just fine. Oh and the beers and water in the fridge was a nice touch too :)

Don't be fooled by the exterior when you drive up: the neighborhood is quiet and the casita inside is cute and comfy. We were there in the heat of August and it stayed cool when we were there. Dave and Laura left lots of nice personal touches, like some goodies in the fridge, a welcome board, etc. They were good about communicating checking in, had a useful list of attractions and dining options, and quickly answered any questions we had. The casita was big enough for our family of four and had a kitchenette so we didn't have to eat out every time.

We are El Paso locals, and what you're looking at is our first ever listing! We have put a lot of love into this little house, and a lot of sweat and tears too. No blood, though, that's gross.

If you're new to El Paso, we would love to help you get to know our city!
