Perfect location for exploring NYC! Surrounded by bars and restaurants and 10-20 minute walk to all great neighborhoods and tourist attractions (easy cab & subway access too). Doorman in the building and a very safe area. Perfect place to stay whether you're looking to explore the NY nightlife or see all the amazing tourist attractions that NY offers. Right in between the downtown and midtown areas so everything is within easy reach.

The space
Bright and spacious apartment in the heart of Manhattan. Walking distance to Flatiron, Gramercy, East Village neighborhoods. Tons of bars and restaurants within close walking distance. Easy subway access that will take you anywhere in the city!

Guest access
Guests will have access to the whole apartment - bedroom, living space and kitchen nook. Doorman in the building. Full kitchen is available to use!

Other things to note
Please note: we have a dog that lives here full time when we are not renting the apartment. She is a schnauzer mix and doesn't irritate the allergies of our family that is allergic to dogs, and we clean everything thoroughly prior to each stay, but if you are very allergic to dogs then this might not be the apartment for you.

Neighborhood spots:
The Taproom on 23rd & 3rd: Great casual place to grab food or a beer or watch a sporting event. Fantastic beer selection and really good food.
Ampersand on 23rd and 3rd: Very cute cocktail bar with fantastic cocktails and small plates
Molly’s on 22rd and 3rd: Great casual and authentic Irish bar. Great Irish comfort food.
8th Wonder in between 21st & 22nd on 2nd Ave: Really fresh healthy smoothies, sandwhiches, and acai bowls, great for quick healthy food.
The Green Room on 23rd street just past 3rd ave going towards Lexington: Fun small craft beer bar.

Other neighborhoods to explore:
East Village: Walk out of our apartment building and turn right. Continue walking south until you reach 14th street – from 14th street down to 1st street, 3rd Ave to Avenue D, is the East Village, there are countless bars and restaurants to explore here. Here are some favorites:
St Marks is a fun street to walk down - very East village, all piercing/tattoo and smoke shops and kareoke bars. Different, younger, edgier side to NYC than you'll see on the west side (but still super safe and accessible to everyone)
Thursday Kitchen. Creative Korean fusion and everything is AMAZING. There's always a wait but just put your name in and wander the neighborhood - it's worth it!!
Ducks eatery is also really good and has a cute patio
Nai tapas bar - fantastic small plates
Please Don't Tell - super cool speakeasy bar - go into the hot dog shop and through the phone booth to put your name in!
When there's inevitably a wait at Please don't tell, go to Augurs well next door, great casual beer bar
Upstate craft beer and oyster bar - all local NY food & drinks
Lovers of Today - the cutest hidden little cocktail bar!

West Village:
Upscale, beautiful part of NYC. You can’t go wrong with any restaurant here. Walk around Hudson street or Bleeker and there are a million cute restaurants and stores; here are some highlights:
Magnolia Bakery - get the banana pudding!!
Rosemarys Italian- big open fun space, great Italian food
Tea & Sympathy for scones and tea
Orient Express - really cute tiny cocktail bar
Market Table for lunch or dinner - everything is amazing here, make sure to save room for dessert!!

Chelsea
from West Village, go north to Chelsea & check out:
Whitney museum of American art - contemporary art with a cafe and patio on the roof that have an amazing view, great place to get a snack and glass of wine!
Take a stroll along the Highline
Chelsea market is super cute with tons of cute restaurant & shop stands indoors

Cool bars worth making a trip for:
The Dead Rabbit in Financial District - rated the best bar in the world for 3 years running. Each floor has a different theme. Try this when you're down seeing the freedom tower or Staten island ferry!
The Mulberry Project in Little Italy - on weekends don't go after 630 or so it gets too packed, but weeknights or any night around 5 or 6 it's amazing. They have a billboard of fresh ingredients, you tell them your preferences, and the bartenders are amazing - you'll love whatever they whip up for you!

Things to explore/see:
WALK THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE - if I recommend anything touristy to do in the city, it's this! You only have to walk halfway out to get the most amazing view of downtown and see the Statue of Liberty
Staten Island ferry runs regularly from Financial District and is free - best way to see statue of liberty up close without doing the whole tour
911 memorial and Freedom Tower
NY public library on 41st & Madison and Grand Central terminal
Washington Square Park - just give yourself some time to wander here, the neighborhood is amazing
Walk down 5th Ave anywhere above 60th street and wander in and out of Central Park
Little Italy & Chinatown are right next to each other. Sit in a window spot in Little Italy to get a coffee or glass of wine and people watch
If you want to see a show and aren't picky about what it is, there is a booth in Times Square that opens around 2 every day and sells some show tickets for 50% off. Google 'TKTS times square' to get more info
Wander through SoHo and window shop (or really shop if you have a big vacation budget!)
Go to Madison Square Park to see the Flatiron building and the beautiful buildings around the park, walk through the Eataly market on 5th ave side. The original Shake Shack is also in this park.
The MET - the Egyptian exhibit is great and there's tons of sculptures. My favorites though are the Van Gogh's in the top south oriented section and George Washington crossing the Delaware in the American section - easier to ask for help finding what you want to see cause otherwise you could spend all day in here!
