This spacious estate is a destination home with 16 rooms, 11 beds, 200 acres of farmland, a private pool, tennis court, a lake, woods and meadows with tons of activities. It's all only five minutes from the beautiful historic city of Staunton, Va.
Built and named in 1952, Gaie Lea, (pronounced gay-lee), is the center piece of a working family farm. Gaie Lea means "Happy Meadows", as translated from old English. The name suits. The house is big with lots of room to have fun. The yard is big. The pool is big. The farm is big. The view, on the other hand, is absolutely grand.
The basic rental agreement includes the house and the grounds surrounding, including the private pool and tennis court for a minimum of three nights and for up to 15 guests. For an additional fee, a lakeside pavilion is available for exclusive access. The pavilion is perfect for large gatherings with seating for 150. Interaction with guests
Completely private, our guests are given the code which opens the gate to the property and the front door. Most guests enjoy the flexibility and privacy this arrangement offers. Management is a phone call away if needed, and of course other arrangements may be made if necessary.
Other things to note
Gaie Lea is located in the heart of The beautiful Shenandoah Valley and all it's attractions. If you are into sight seeing, local attractions include, Shakespeare's Blackfriars Playhouse, Woodrow Wilson's birthplace, and The American Frontier Culture Museum- and that's all within a five minute drive! Vineyards and breweries offer nearby tasting opportunities. After dark, visit any number of restaurants and bars in downtown Staunton or just crank up the volume on our vintage turntable and dance until the sun comes up.
Due to the nature of this large property, we send all our guests a formal rental agreement to read and sign. There is a three night minimum for renting the house.
