Our place is close to everything - a tram ride away from the city centre, train station&Meadowhall. We have close amenities for shopping (5m walk), leisure (5-10m)&entertainment(15m). You’ll love the place because of the location, breakfast, private parking&the outdoors space - our house is wedged between a park with trees overlooking the garden & conservatory & a green space in front that shelters it from the road.
Our place is good for couples, friends, solo adventurers & business travellers.
We live in a 2 bedroom house and you are offered the master bedroom as we prefer a more cosy environment :)
We can ofer a superking size layout or a twin layout (by halfing the superking to offer two european singles) and we prefer to be told in advance about your preference. Unfortunately there is no lock on your door, but this is your space while you are here, which we will respect.
The bathroom is shared, but we'll make sure it's fair use as we won't hog it.
There will be coffee/tea facilites as well as a kettle and a bottle of fresh water on your arrival.
We provide a continental breakfast in the morning, so please let us know what time you would like it being served as well as if you would like coffee or tea.
For TV use there is a PS3 in your room and full instructions on how to use it to get to iPlayer, All4 and we are happy to share our Amazon Video Prime subscription if you are so inclinded.
Access to everything, except our room is shared: the living room, kitchen, conservatory and garden. If you wish to cook or require space in the fridge please let us know and we can accomodate you.
You will be given some house keys so you can come and go as you wish.
Give us a shout if you need anything :)
Interaction with guests
We are friendly and talkative people, but if you prefer your privacy, we are ok with that too.
Other things to note
In your room there are lots of storage spaces for you to use: we have converted the storage cupboard so there are some shelves and hangers for your clothes/luggage. You are also welcome to make use of the space of one of the bedside cabinets and the bedside table. There is a shelf of books that are for your use under the PS3 which you are also encouraged to make full use of.
Please note that we do have some personal items in the room in the form of our clothes in the wardrobe, the other bedside cabinet, a linen box with bedding for the room in the cupboard and 2 shelves with books and CDs in the cabinet where the refreshments are. We really couldn't find another place for them, we do not require access to them while you are here so we appologise in advance if this is an issue.
Please note that the router and the power shower motor are tucked away in your room as well. We have made an effort to move the router as far as it can reach from your sleeping area and we will keep the use of the power shower to reasobale hours as to not cause unnecessary noise.
Please remember this is a residential area, so be considerate (especially between 11pm and 7am).
Please try to use the kitchen for tableware and cutlery and living room table/garden table for food consumption, rather than your room.
We would appreciate if you keep any alcohol consumption in moderation, and to step outside if you wish to smoke.
Please leave the keys on the living room table or posted through letter box on leaving.
We are very friendly/talkative people, but if you prefer your space, we can do that too :)
Just as an aside, AirBnB's rating means that if a listing falls unde 4 stars it will be taken off the site as unsuitable (this is unfair in our opinion but does skew things a bit). So, we kindly ask if you have any issues that would make your stay a non-5-star one please allow us to solve them before you leave as we really would like to learn on how we could improve our service.
I love travel, sustainability and meeting interesting people. When I travel I take the path which is less touristy and AirBnB is perfect for that. I travel with my wife Eve (https://www.airbnb.co.uk/users/show/3518516) most of the time and we try to make the best out of the places we travel by asking our host for local gems.
